Plaza Room Questions

Going down next month and will spend the first few days at friends place, then plan to stay a few nights at the Plaza.. Just a couple of questions.

Any experience with refridgerators. Will they provide free or should I develop diabetes between now and then?

Second, I like to take a break in the afternoon to sit down, read the paper, watch the early news and sip a scotch. Do their rooms have a reasonably comfortable chair/table setup where I won't have to crane my neck to see the news?

Not deal breakers, but I like to know. Thanx for any help.

The Plaza's website says it charges for refrigerators. I've heard anecdotes suggesting the policy varies.

I'm going to hope you were joking, but if you were not, please don't claim you have a deadly disease so you can play on the sympathies of others to score a free refrigerator. Makes the world more suspicious of those who actually are sick, people who already have enough problems, and deters people from helping those who really need it.

No, just joking thankfully. I've heard of a few hotels that don't charge and was wondering about the Plaza. I like the idea of a refer for morning items and doggy bags from dinner. I much prefer eating part of a meal and having the rest later rather than stuffing myself, which I'll do if it's good. I guess I'll tell them I need the refer for my meds and throw a bottle of Advil in there when they bring it up!

Yes, you can easily score a refidgerator at the Plaza. I used the $10 trick but later found out that anyone that mentions they have meds can get one for free.
As far as a chair, the room that I stayed in had a small table with two desk chairs, nothing I personnally would want to try to get comfortable in.
