The Plaza - South Tower

We enjoyed a 4-night stay in the South Tower at The Plaza. We had a high floor (18th) and were pleasantly surprised at the complete lack of noise, the beautiful views from both sides of the hotel (we looked north and our buddy had a room looking south), and the comfortable beds. The only nits I would pick are 1) the bathrooms are very tight and there's not much room to maneuver, 2) when we called for service on Friday we were told they weren't offering service at all, but could drop off towels, etc. if we would leave the dirties outside the door. Those were really the only things that would knock it from a true 5-star experience down to a 3.5 IMO. We would definitely recommend The Plaza as long as you can get a high room in the South Tower.

Shhhhh!  Don't tell anyone!

Just kidding, I stay at the Plaza multiple times a year if I'm lucky and other times at El Cortez.  And I'm with you, the South Tower is the best tower even though most rooms are NOT refurbished.

However, if you can see the pickle ball courts and pool that means you can see Fremont Street's Main Stage and that sucker booms until 2am.  I always get the highest room possible and facing the Strip (south).

What's also nice is if you drive you can park on the 3rd floor and access the room towers easily and completely skip the super slow parking ramp elevators.  I haven't used the parking elevators in years, just park 3rd floor, zip over to the tower elevator and up you go to your room.  I also do the same when I check in or go to Oscars, take the 3rd floor across past the conference rooms and bingo and down the elevator or escalator and skip the smoke filled casino...as that's for later.

Don't miss the Jerky store, they have some surprisingly good snacks beyond jerky; nuts, chocolate, candies.  I hadn't been in there in years and stopped in last trip, picked up a few hawaiian style jerkies and nuts.  It's very popular with Hawaiians and I've seen more than a few get large bags of everything to ship back to the Islands.  The lady running it was very friendly and also likely Hawaiian.  Good vibes.

It's still a pretty good place to stay in Vegas, I enjoy it more than the other properties.  Glad you had a good stay even though they appear to only have a handful of people cleaning 995 rooms!

The south tower is THE place to be at the Plaza! If you actually want to sleep.

We figured that out several years ago. Fix those bathrooms and it could be very nice!
