The Plaza downtown will take another step toward reopening with the start of the hiring process for 800 positions.

Tamares Real Estate, which owns the hotel, will run the job fair Monday through Friday next week, then Tuesday through Friday after the Fourth of July holiday. Applications will be taken at the Las Vegas Club, across Main Street from the hotel, or online at www.plazahotelcasino.com.

The announcement did not detail how many of the jobs would be part-time. In addition, the total includes about 300 people who were laid off when the Plaza closed for renovation in November.

People will go on the payroll in August to prepare for the Sept. 1 reopening.

Always Happy to hear when people are being Re-Hired. Yay!!!
THey had a hiring fair the last week of June for that at the Las Vegas Club. Over 5000 people showed up the first day. A lot of them were sent home because they did not fill out the on line application.

Yes, I was staying at Las Vegas Club last Monday and Tuesday and there were a lot of people there in line for job interviews, but it got frustrating for many of the people when they found out that they had to register online first.

I was staying in the North Tower and there was a guard there at all times right by the North Tower elevators (I guess to make sure that things went in an orderly manner).
