Probably the closest to a comp room I'll see at Plaza

I won't bore readers with my pitiable attempt to endear myself to the plaza by grinding at LVC full pay JOB. As I said elsewhere, didn't work. But I nose around looking for deals, and I've had bidgoggles open while hotwiring future trips to get an idea where bargains may be hiding. This 'score' is not because of bidgoggles, but when I entered some future dates in hotwire, the tab that got my attention was at the top and said, 'more hotels' and standard rates were offered, not masked. The Plaza for 17/nite showed up at first, but I couldnt get that through. Then I tried the same dates and got a res for 20.77/nite weekdays in nov. For you folks getting RFB, this is petty. But I paid up for a weekend night at the plaza 6 weeks ago, and I can only hope they still have the uprights where i last helped myself to a RF. That reminds me of the old plaza: until recently my personal best for RF out of one casino. Good Luck!
Hey JM,

As far as I know, the only way you will really get a comp out of Plaza is for you to play there exclusively (and they hopefully will still have at least a few machines that have 9/6 Jacks on them by the time I get back to visit there).

And again, from what I'm understanding, it takes at the very least $2,000 of coin-in per day to get a comp room out of Plaza whereas with Las Vegas Club, you should be able to get one with about $1,600 of coin-in per day. I can say that trying to get Plaza comps while playing at LVC is not a good idea since it actually is pretty useless!

The only thing that I have gotten recently from Plaza was an offer to pay them $25 (Plus Tax) per night (with a two night minimum) for a room where I can still get a completely comped room at Las Vegas Club!

Good Luck to you and congratulations on your nice RF at Plaza!

I stayed at the Plaza on a Monday and Tuesday night last week, 10/10 and 10/11. I booked a mini suite thru their website for $48 per night. (I had no history there) My play for the two days consisted of 5 hours of BJ at $25 level, with several bets at $50-$75, and a very few at $100. 2 hours of craps with $5 pass line with odds, and 2 $10 place bets. I had roughly 3 hours of 9/6 DDB at Lucky's bar, and roughly 1hour of 9/7 DDB on the floor. Don't ask me the coin in because I have no idea. :-) I usually play about 550 hands per hour on VPW if that helps. Although I do try to play a bit slower in the casinos.

When I finished playing the second night, I asked to speak to a host to have my play rated. A gentleman showed up rather quickly. He introduced himself as Nathan Young. After a very few minutes at the computer, he came over and informed me that both nights would be comped! Yeah, I was surprised. I shook his hand and thanked him for the comp, and told him how pleasant my stay was. He then handed over his card, and told me I was his guest for 3 nights anytime I wanted. New Years Eve, Super Bowl, anytime. Holy shit....he probably wasn't terribly impressed with me at that point, because I was left babbling.

Needless to say, I'll be back.

Oops, my vp play was DB, not DDB. Sorry about that.

Thanks, recc'y, and thanks, joebob. I have been mildly successful bringing no more than one benjy per day as a loss limit. I like to hang out at craps tables for a few minutes and take what I'm able to increase my bankroll for full pay JOB at 25c. Occasionally I actually hit the RF at 5c when my bankroll goes too low to expect it to last what's left of a 'day.' The 25/day mailers still escape me, so I should check at the LVC host desk to see if I opted out of mailings. Thanks again, and Good Luck!

You're very welcome, jm. I'm very happy to see how you are controling your money and bets! Not everyone wants to play in that manner.

And yes, you should check out (by speaking to a host) whether you have somehow been listed as no mail. Las Vegas Club/Plaza Hosts will know if you have any offers available (even if nothing gets mailed to you).

But again, at least from what I'm understanding, comps for Plaza will only come for a higher daily average play (coin-in) amount than from play at Las Vegas Club (and I think that this is happening more especially now at Plaza since their remodeling).

RecVp, you may have misunderstood the point I was trying to make, or possibly, I'm misunderstanding your point. Since there were some questions on what it takes for a comp at the Plaza, I listed my play for the 2 days to hopefully add a bit of info on the subject. Please understand, I wasn't trying to boast about my level of play, or in any way put myself above jm, or anyone else, and their level of play. I hope this explains my position a little better. As I stated in a post a few months ago, your posts... and advice, is an asset to these forums.

Believe this joebob, david and i, we like advice. My stingy ways of playing are really about my long history of gambling and not for everyone. The concern you expressed in your reply this week should be a model for other posters. Hope we get to sort through some more advice soon, as I do meets as often as I can and visit several times per year. -mike r
Hey Joey,

There's no problem at all with what you posted. I was just trying to tell jm that from what I'm understanding as well as from what I've read before online that with Plaza, to get at least room comps, they tend to be looking more for about $2,000 of coin-in per day where Las Vegas Club tends to be looking for around $1,600 per day of coin-in for room comps.

You just happen to play at a higher level than I do but there is nothing wrong with that and I didn't feel one bit like you were bragging or anything -- just giving all of us the information about how much you played there and what you were able to get out of them.

It's all good!

But really, for jm I was trying to let him know that from what I've been told, Plaza really prefers that you play at Plaza at least the vast amound of your visit in order to get comps out of them.

My not playing much at Plaza for a while is probably the reason why when I got a written offer from them, it ended up offering me the choice of either two entirely comped nights at Las Vegas Club or two nights at Plaza where I would have to pay $25 (Plus Tax) per night.

That definitely lead me to believe that if I wanted more out of Plaza, then I would need to give them more action.

I've actually met up with jm more than once in LV and we are both grinders at heart!

Well, I just got back last night from a week's trip to Oregon (??? LOL) and a comp offer from the Plaza was sitting in my mail.

3 nights at the new Plaza plus $75 in free slot play or promotional chips.

Good anytime until 1/31/12.

It said please call 800-634-6575 and mention code CPDT11 to stay at the Plaza or CLDT11
to stay at the Las Vegas Club.

Hey, maybe anyone can use this offer.

Good luck!!!
