Are there any? Last time I was there the noise from Commonwealth was pretty bad until 3:30 every morning.

In the main building, the crummy older rooms that are accessed from the parking garage have some that face away from the noise (toward Ogden St.). The Tower has some rooms that are quiet(er) if they're high enough and also face Ogden.
However, the best choice for peace and quiet is the Cabana Suites across Ogden. Get a room that faces away from the EC main building, and you'll barely hear the noise.

When staying at the El Cortez I always get a room on the highest floor available - a room that faces the mountains (north). I have never had a problem with noise when having one of these rooms. I have read where the Cabana suites are very quiet.
I've never had a problem in their tower unless there is a concert or something at the container park. The Cabana suites are farther removed...but I also dont think they are as nice as the tower rooms. They havent been refreshed since they went live.
Heard the basement has about 80 or so that do not make noise @ The El Cortez
Just completed a stay in a tower room facing the mountains (north). Zero noise from any outdoor entertainment. Just the usual sirens, loud cars etc. WiFi in the rooms was quite slow; capped at 2MB down/up...pitiful. Barely fast enough for YouTube streaming. One tower room elevator was busted the entire trip.
Few additional notes:
*Starbucks buildout still in progress.
*Food at Siegels still solid and service is timely but they don't open until 7a on weekdays.
*Still one lonely bonus poker in the place.
*Airline promo can still be done up to 3x per year (1000 pt requirement for the second and third times each year).
* Airport shuttle is a great benefit. Leaves at the top of every hour starting at 7a. I consider this an additional $25 comp as it saves the Uber/Lyft fee.
Wow, that elevator has been down for at least 3 weeks! It was broken on my trip in Mid-March. I too have had the best luck with the (south facing) mountain view rooms noise wise. One thing to note, the heating/cooling systems in those rooms are 40+ years old. They have their own noise problems. I pack a small Bluetooth speaker and use a white noise app on my phone while sleeping. I sleep with white noise at home, so it makes sleeping away from home easier. It seems like every room there has it's own personality regarding the heat/ac. I had one room where there would be a loud "crack" every 30 seconds or so. I had another that made a dripping sound, this last one had a constant ratt-tatt-tatt. Annoying.
Can confirm the loud BANG from the HVAC when the unit would switch off in the room.
Also to elaborate on the airport shuttle. It was a full size SUV (no ElCo branding on the vehicle), not a traditional shuttle bus, so definitely need to book ahead. Left on time and took about 20 min to the airport at 7am.
Elevator still down as of yesterday morning.
We stayed on 5th floor close to elevator, no noticeable noise. Elevator still out until out last night before leaving . May 21-25-24

Good news about the elevator at the ElCo! Both are now working as of 8/22/2024. Also, only one requires the room key/wristand validation. The other one is just push the button for your floor. Although this is only available on the elevator on the right side (just a little more convenient but less secure, somewhat).
