Rank the downtown hotels (not including Nugget)

We can all agree that GN is by far the best hotel downtown. But what about the next 3? How would you rank them, and more importantly, why?
Four Queens - They really look after us - double scotches as fast as we want them and full pay video poker. We thought that the room was fine - would have appreciated a couple of armchairs. Great deals in Magnolia restaurant. Better Comps than MSS.

MSS - Full pay video poker plus scratch card for 4 of a kind or better. - slow drink service with single scotches. Armchairs in rooms - yeah! Great value buffet. Cool antiques.

Other than GN they are the only places we stayed downtown.
This is a ranking strictly based on room quality & hotel amenities. The casinos are another story for another day:

1. Fremont - nothing special, but nothing to complain about either (the women around me might disagree about the smallish bathroom, but that's generally true downtown)
2. El Cortez (Tower) - Has seen better days, but large, quiet, and decently appointed
3. Four Queens - North Tower is closer to the action, but noisier and the rooms are more threadbare
4. Golden Gate - A mix of old and new; YMMV with ongoing renovations
5. Las Vegas Club (South Tower) - On my last visit, the room itself wasn't bad, but lots of little things added up to a subpar experience

The other places I have not stayed, so I can't comment.
Based on rooms/restaurants/hotel services. All are easy comps ($5K a day or less)

MSS - Fresh, bright rooms. Best buffet and great brewery. Love the vibe and antique feel. Easy comp and staff are excellent.
Plaza - Best rooms, best pool, great steakhouse and cafe. Free internet with comp. Not the best "vibe" though and staff only so-so (cocktail server could have been my grandma!)
4 Queens - South tower rooms are OK. Hugo's is great. Cafe and Brewery could use some major doing up but food is solid. Fun vibe, very friendly.
The D - New rooms are good, but not as nice as Plaza. Old rooms are awful. Very busy, but some complain about music volume. Restaurants blow....
El Cortez - Tower rooms are large and OK. Restaurants are blah... Flame is solid but hardly special occasion. Vibe is still a little sad and run down.

We would agree with tonyrob for all of the same reasons..Four Queens #1 and MSS #2.
#3 would go to the Plaza with the remodeled rooms and plenty of 9/6 jacks or better to play at the Vegas Club if we can't get on the 3 machines at the Plaza.
I agree with the CheeseHead for #1 and #2. I haven't stayed at the new Plaza yet so I cannot rank it.
kiwiboy I presume your rating for Plaza was from the "new/updated" hotel as opposed to the old?

Thanks to all for your comments. Keep them coming!
Yeah, the old plaza rooms were probably the worst downtown. The new ones are nice.
El Cortez - drink service while you wait to check in, Guiness on tap at the casino bars, loose slots and VP, cheap (nice) rooms, best promotions and room offers of any place downtown without a doubt.

California - love the eateries and the ice cream parlor. Great selection of VP. Asian cocktail waitresses are cute. Rooms are ok.

The D - might be the best low rollwer value in the city. Dirt cheap basic rooms. Awesome VP and slots. Good comps....I only wish they had a decent restaurant to spend the comps at.
