RESORT FEE coming to the Plaza

Sure, Doc, what the hell. It seems to get a lot nastier over there, though. Arguing for the sake of arguing.

jstewa22- Great post- I wish you would post your message, as written here, on the free side where the Plaza's resort fee is being discussed. By the way, I agree with you 100%.
No, you don't agree with jstewa22.

You won't stay at a hotel that imposes a resort fee. At least that's what you said:

I won't stay at any casino that charges a rip-off fee.

By contrast, jstewa22 will reluctantly stay at a hotel that imposes a resort fee:

So I guess my bottom line is that I'd like to avoid such businesses on principle, although on rare occasions the deal will be too good to pass up, even with all the fees.

jstewa22 has the same position as pretty much everyone. We don't like resort fees, but we can factor them into our planning decisions and stay at hotels that impose them if the overall deal's good enough. You, however, will not stay at a resort fee hotel ever, under any circumstances.

Weird that you still don't understand this discussion, let alone your own expressed position in it.
FYI Chilcoot , I have replied to your above comments on the Vegas-Free-For-All side.
i would never stay at a hotel that had a resort fee. i should also mention im comped on most of my trips so for the most part, i dont even have to.

i only pay for rooms when i choose to - for example, i would like to stay at encore. but the resort fee prevents me from doing it. its the principle of it.

I just got an e-mail back from my host saying that if a person has a comped room, they will not be charged this new Resort Fee -- the only people who will be charged the Resort Fee are those paying for a room there.

Thanks, Rec, that's good to know. I guess that's how it usually works, although I've seen lots of posts about Stations trying to charge the resort fee to comped guests (seems like it's usually removed if you scream, though, which I also find abusive, i.e., taking advantage of the non-assertive).
You're welcome Jon! I did say to my host, I don't have a computer device so I don't need Internet service, I don't need bottled water and I don't need to make local or 800 number phone calls and parking is free with casino or hotel validation so why should I have to pay that fee!

I dont like resort fees but on occasion I may pay one. I always check prices if I am paying and add the resort fee to the room price if ii's cheaper then the other joint I may book it.

That being said raise your price, screw the resort fee, your probably not a resort. Free phone calls Yahoo I have been going to LV for 20 years 3 or more times a year and have made less than 10 phone calls and I dont use a cell either. Resort fees usually give you nothing at all just another way to make a few extra bucks.

Again if you need ten bucks raise your damn price.
