Second Street Grill at The Fremont

I was hoping to take our group of 16 to this joint in October, but confirmed yesterday that the restaurant has reopened as a Cafe.  It's open for breakfast and lunch only.  Fine dining at The Fremont appears to be permanently gone.

I liked the place.  Great food for a very reasonable price.

Which is probably precisely why they closed it. I ate there several times over the years. I agree, the food was excellent and so were the prices.

Are you angry about it?

No. Disappointed. But congratulations on spelling "angry" correctly!

It was not a cheap place. Not real pricey. Usually ate twice there on points. Exactly what are  you to  use your points on at Boyd properties? Cafe food?  They gutted vpoker.

Jerry -- I also am a Boyd regular (Emerald, since 1995) and have noticed that none of the Boyd Vegas properties offer me comped rooms even though I did give the same average amount of play that I have given for years. Prior to the start of 2021, I had no problem booking comped rooms. This whole year, 2021, I have been unable to book ANY comped rooms for the entire year. I now only play on 10x V.P. days and use my points for food. I will be down graded to Sapphire because my play has dwindled and I will not qualify for Emerald - which I liked because of being able to use the Emerald line for the buffets, which have not been reopened.

I only play at Boyd's & was told they do not want to bring the  buffets back -on.y at Main St Station.  Contact a casino host for comp rooms.  They're usually pretty good

No one comments but buffet had excellent prime rib. I liked it sliced thin with au jus. That I miss. Your option is the cafe I guess. Seems jus more detioration of downtown. I get occ free room from 4Aueens. Nothing from Fremont. I traveled about every E2 months for 7-10 days. I believe there is something going on with the stimulus money and the casinos. The # do not add up. Record crowds. I don't see that. No comps. ???  Would like to find out how much money casinos got from the stimulus money.
