Shuttles to downtown from strip?

Dear Group:
Heading to Vegas tomorrow and would like to go back to the downtown area, where we've only been once. Are there are free shuttles downtown from the Strip? I haven't been able to locate any. Thanks.

No. Public transit and taxis.

No shuttles----you have to take the Deuce or SDX ($52hrs, $7 24 hours) or taxi. Now if you are near the Trop/NYNY corner, you can catch the WAX for $2 and it gets you there in a hurry, but it only comes about once an hour. IF you are interested in going to Sam's Town, you could ride the Sam's shuttle from Harrah's to Sam's, play some there, and then catch their shuttle to the Cal/Fremont. You would still have to get a ride (bus or taxi) back to the Strip. It's free, but time consuming.
Good point to open a discussion: I've often used the Deuce bus to get downtown, but man it takes forever!!! Surely there isn't a shuttle bus service that could do the same thing quicker for about $10? I'm seeing a business opportunity here....

The monorail should have run from the airport, to the strip, to downtown. No wonder it's losing money. What were they thinking?
SDX is the way to go with very limited stops. I think from Paris to downtown the SDX makes 6 stops on the way

I think the GN has a shuttle for guests, but thats about it. Most of the other shuttles will take you downtown from the airport. I use Bell Trans for my back and forth. Its $16 round trip and $8 one-way.

The only problem is that if you are going downtown, you get dropped off last. This summer it took about an hour mins to get from the airport to the GG. You get a good tour of all the strip casino valet stations, but after about 45 mins, it gets old.

marko..
El Cortez has a shuttle TO the airport for its guests. Its a regular min-van and only holds four people so be sure to book in advance. Nothing from the airport.
I use CLS and thus far I've had pretty good luck timewise.
