Siegals and restaurant coupon

We were denied using the bogo coupon because they insisted we could only use in in the restaurant not for take out.  This is not listed on the coupon and considering the covid 19 circumstances they should have honored the coupon.  We did NOT feel comfortable sitting in their restaurant, unmasked, with other unmasked patrons.  So we left El Cortez and went to another casino.  Our plan was to do take out and then come back the rest of our trip to gamble since we like the place.  Well, El Cortez has lost our business all for the silly in room dining rule.

Thats a bummer.   Another issue is the fact they seem to have restricted their menu during COIVD.   When I was there a few weeks ago they removed all of the high-end items (steaks/seafood) from the menu.    Customers were limited to getting sandwiches and breakfast.

I've got over $200 in comps at El COrtez waiting for my next trip.   They need to have something for me to spend that on or I'm going to start collecting comps elsewhere.

I suggest it may have had something to do with tipping.  At a Strip hotel where seating in their restaurants was very tight due to the Governor's restrictions I was told I could order "anything" from one of their restaurants through In-room Dining, brought to the room, charge it to the room, etc.  When I tried this, the In-room Dining person said sorry but they couldn't do that, something contractual having to do with the server/gratuity side of things.

And, yes, places at home as well as Vegas have trimmed their menus due to Covid, often resulting in my favorite entrees not being available right now.  Brisket tacos at Saltgrass comes to mind.  I don't understand it, but that's the way it is.  Bummer.

Reason #3,298 that Vegas just isn't worth visiting any more. I hope things will improve. I don't think it'll ever get back to the way it was.

I'm just taking a guess but could it be that restaurants don't want to be holding higher cost perishable inventory in this who knows what might happen next environment?
