Spa suite at the Golden Nugget

Has anyone stayed in one? If so are they as nice as they look on their web site? How much (I have been quoted $500) and how much BJ play to get it comped. How are the fine dining restuarants their? Thanks.
We stayed in a spa suite once. (Hotel was full and we got mega upgraded). The suite is very nice but I wouldn't pay $500 for it. Don't know what it takes to get it comped.

Resturaunts - Stefano's is good but not as good as it was before Tim and Tom bought it. It will be interesting to see what the new owners do with it.

Carson Street Cafe is good.

I haven't been to Lilly Langtree's or Zax.

You might check out Hugo's at the Four Queens. Great resturaunt!

We used to stay in one comped years ago. I have no idea what kind of play they are looking for now but I can say this, when I called my old host I was told he could give me a regular suite for 250 and evaluate when we leave. Since I used to be rated at 125 a hand I dare say they are looking for quite a bit more then that. Here are some pictures from one of our stays: https://cards.webshots.com/cp-95039710-zZJv-album/103842356UiJfPO

Stefano's has gone significantly down hill IMO. I would have rated it as one of my favorites 2 years ago and I wouldn't call it average today, and high priced average at that.

Golden Nugget is a beautiful property but it's not for me anymore.
Thanks for the info, I am somewhat reluncant to stay there, as my wife enjoys the shopping on the strip etc. But I saw a photo of the spa suites and they looked great. Thanks for the info.

I've eaten at Lily Langtry's and it is very good. I don't know what "star" rating it has, maybe 4, but the food, service, and ambiance is excellent. It's billed as a Catonese Steakhouse. I had the terryaki marinated rib eye, veggies, and a great Riesling.... I'd definitely eat there again.

I have a reservation for the 2 bedroom Spa Suite but the GN website does not have photos. Does anyone know where I can see some or have a description of it? I have stayed in the 1 BR, two level Spa Suite with the spiral staircase but I understand that the 2 BR is a single level.

Do you need a hotel key to use the elevator for this tower? It has it's owns elevator bank, separate from the Gold Tower. It's the one closest to the pool, just around the corner from the front desk.
Last April we stayed at the GN and they overbooked. My sister go to have the suite that the owner generally stays in when he is in town. She got to have it for the entire week! Fancy!!!! They were the penthouse suites and used the regular elevator at the North Tower but had to insert a card inside the elevator to get to the penthouse. That suite was beautiful!

Over the past 19 years I've stayed in a Golden Nugget Spa Suite about 15 times.  It's very nice, but it does not have wonderful city views.  The best views are those which overlook the Golden Nugget pool.  Richaed's comments seem like a commercial, plus it's interesting that he's responding to 12 year old post.

Thanks, Cliff.
