We've been going to Fremont Street for years, first started at Fitzgeralds, cheap rooms, cheap blackjack. Then 2012 it became The D, got some good comps for a few years and loved Andiamo, but got very tired of the ever increasing limits, reduced comps and way too loud music. So we switched to The Plaza and have been treated pretty good there and I like playing there a lot, especially like eating at Oscars. They give me 3 free nights and $90 in free play with food comps so I feel that's pretty good for my low limit play.
Last October I stopped into the El Cortez for the first time to do the boarding pass thing and got a players card. I played my $10 free play and dumped another $100 into video poker. Didn't play anything else.
So I was surprised when I received an offer last month for 3 free nights including resorts fee and a $25 food comp, so I figured...hmm, maybe I should check out the property. So I'll be heading there in June and playing at the Golden Nugget's Grand Poker Series.
Question for the El Cortez fans: I do like a quiet room, I booked the Tower strip view thinking it would be as quiet as the Plaza's south tower and still have a view of the lights, but now I'm reading about container park and bar noise from Fremont East. Is this something to worry about? Should I try get the mountain view?
