Strong DTG Offer

Got an offer today from Downtown Grand that included 3 nights over NYE, invitation to their NYE dinner and midnight party plus complimentary drinks for the duration of the stay.
That's one of the best deals I've received from any casino.

This is interesting because I've spent some time & money at the Grand and always had a great time, but didnt think enough to warrant this kind of offer.

If I wasnt so damn scared of the massive NYE crowd, I might cash this one in.

marko..
looks like a great offer a great offer-----do not fear the crowds-----could always take breaks and retire to your room----go for it-----may not get another deal like this
I got a similar offer from El Cortez - just can't quite swing a trip at that time, damn it....
Yeah - we already have NYE plans, but for now, the plan is to get back out there in late Feb.
I may check in and see whats available or what I can cash in that weekend instead..

marko..

sounds great. I would if I could. pretty hard to catch a price break on anything that weekend. I like the rooms at the Grand.
I got an offer from the DTG a few days ago too. One free night for the months of Jan. Feb. and Mar. And some minimal free play money (I think it was $5).
I stayed at the DTG in late Aug. 2016, hadn't played there at all during our stay. So, I'm quite surprised to be getting anything from them. It's not much but I'll take it. I hope they send the same comp for the months of Apr. May and June when I'll be going again. I can't take advantage of these free night during those first 3 months of the year that they've sent. But glad to see something. This is the first time I'm receiving a room comp from them.
I am still waiting for my offers. maybe they have dumped me.
My offer.
Surf87 , I just got the same mailer , but mine offers me 2 complimentary days for the 3 months . I am going to take advantage by booking 2 days in late February , and then , after the 48 hour waiting period , do 2 days in early March . I have stayed at the Downtown Grand before , and the rooms are brand new . Very nice . Try to take advantage of the offer if you can . Good luck . Tom
BEWARE! On our last visit to the Downtown Grand, me and my wife sat down at the bar to play .50 and 1.00 DDB video poker. We were having a pleasant time enjoying the band that was playing behind us. About an hour into our visit, a scarey looking young man sat down around the corner next to me. He wasn't gambling or drinking. He kept wanting to engage me in conversation about the upcoming presidential election among other things. I've been to Vegas 50+ times and have learned to ignore these types as best as possible. He wouldn't quit. I sternly told him that me and my wife were on vacation and had no opinions to discuss with him He was obviously high and stared at me and my wife with his glassed over eyes for about 10 minutes then said "do you know what you need?" I ignored him and he said "A CAP IN YOUR ASS!" loudly. We were next to the waitress station where a cocktail waitress was standing. She looked at me and said " do you want me to call security?" I said hell yes! The bartender scurried to the other side of the bar (probably to hide). A minute or two later a security man arrived (looked like he was about 17) and started questioning the individual. After what seemed like 5 or 10 minutes of them talking like old friends, I realized that he wasn't going to do anything. I told the wife to cash out and we proceeded to the security podium where 3 or 4 guards were shooting the breeze and playing with their cell phones. I ask to speak with head of security. Finally after further insistence they summoned him. I informed him of the situation and handed him our players cards and said that we would never be back. He apologized all over himself and asked where the individual was. I pointed him out and he said that they would take care of it. I said "too late" as we made our way to the cashier's cage. As we left, we saw 2 guards escorting him out of the casino. If they were smart enough to look up our play, they may be able to make changes to survive but I doubt it. Regardless we will never step foot inside again!
