Based on the responses here we booked the Gold Tower at the Nugget - Great room and great value - and the pool rocks!
The Casino, while beautifully appointed (and we enjoyed the tables) did not pay so we spent most of our trip at the 4 Queens - and won enough to pay for the entire trip plus some toward the next trip. Will post a report soon

Very good! Golden Nugget is not really known for good gaming -- the Four Queens is much better for that as well as for their cashback and comps rate.

I hope that you liked Downtown overall and will return there.
