Three Nights Comped at Golden Gate...Dare I???

Unless things have changed there (I have not stayed there in many years), if you want quiet, make sure that your room (or at least the windows) does not face Fremont Street.

THE ROOM IS SMALL BUT CLEAN THE BATHROOM IS VERY VERY SMALL, YOU WILL NOT BE HANGING OUT IN THE ROOM BUT FOR SLEEPING AND TAKING CARE OF THE NECESSITIES IT SERVED US WELL A COUPLE OF TIMES AND THE EMPLOYEE ARE ACTUALLY FRIENDLY UP TO AND INCLUDING THE SLOT CLUB BOOTHLINGS. SO HAVE FUN
I get the free room fliers for GG too, this coming trip I was tempted to take them up on the offer, but ended up at 4Queens instead.. interested in your stay though.. I did see Jen's pics when she posted them and the rooms that had been redone looked rather neat.. small but cool looking.
I have not stayed there, but I have been inside someone else's room there. Very very small, but nice and clean and updated.

Someone I know from another board stayed there for the first time (1st time downtown actually) in December. His last couple of stays were Planet hollywood and Aria. He thought his room was just fine and LOVED the casino

I stayed at the Golden Gate once and loved it! The room I had was updated and nice. Yes it was small, but for two people it worked out fine. I'm not in the room much. Where else can you Valet your car and be in your room in less than 5 minutes. Our room was on the fremont side. You can actually open your window and wave at the people below. lol. We also could lay on the bed and watch the light show. So yes the fremont side has noise. We went to bed late so all the shows and music gets turned off at some point in the night. Another thing I learned after hours they really come in and clean the fremont area (street sweepers, and water blasters) after most people are asleep. I also like the deli, the shrimp cocktail is always a Vegas must have for me. I would not hesitate to stay again, but just not had the chance.

Stayed once. It was suposed to be a three day stay but I'd double booked the third day and left after two nites. Room was small, bed was small, walking around the bed was tight, bathroom was small and the bathroom floor was straight out of the 1960s boys locker room motif.Room was spartan, few tv channels, hallways were narrow. I would stay again if comped, but not for three nights. As mentioned- one night in a pinch is fine, three nites is not.
We stayed at the GG this last Christamas to New years because of cost (we have money, we are just cheap).

We stayed in room 310 facing the Fremont street experiance and had the good fortune to have one of the speakers for the experiance 30 feet straight out from our window!

Day 2 of our four night stay I was willing to pay "any" price to get the hell out of that room! My wife insisted that we give it another night so I bought those squisshy ear plugs that they use for hearing protection in factories at a drug store and could still not sleep because of the vibration from those speakers

Day 3 (at the Golden nugget!) was spent trying to make up for sleep lot the 1st two nights!I really like the G.G (Best tail in town!) but I do not recommend room 310!
