Trying Something New..

Every trip I do something new and this weekend, for the first time, Im going to play Vegas BINGO!

With that, do I need to show up early to play at The Plaza? I know they are proud of their Bingo Room, but I have never walked in. And do they have cocktail waitresses walking around? I know its a simple game, but not sure how big the "crowds" are to play.

Im actually kinda excited about this..

Thanks for any info

I suggest getting there 15-20 minutes early. That'll give you a chance to talk to the staff and tell them how you'd like to play. How much, what sorts of cards. I let them figure it out for me, I really don't think it matters much. Just tell them how much you want to spend, they'll set you up right.

Unless you're good at bingo already, I'd suggest you pay the $1-$2 extra to let their electronic machine keep track of your cards. Just enter a code from your receipt and wait for the thing to start playing a song, that's how you'll know you got bingo. It's really that easy.

Yes, they have cocktail service. Expect the server to come buy just once, early in the hour. You can order two drinks at a time.
I remember going to Foxwoods when it was just a Bingo hall....Oh yea, and they had pull tabs too

Although I don't know much of anything about the Bingo that's at the Plaza, I can tell you that it's not on the main casino floor. You can get to it by going to the North Tower Elevator to the 3rd floor and then down a long hallway. It's not far from where the temporary Hotel Lobby was for a while. Also, depending on if they are working, there have been escalators that you can take at least up to there but I don't know whether all of the down escalators there are working properly. These escalators are not far from the front entrance to Plaza.

And be aware that there are Multi-game Slot/Video Poker/Video Keno machines outside of the Bingo room there.

I'd take a 6 pack of the finest Schlitz beer and place it among my assortment of lucky charms, cuttie chums, and troll dolls. Then..... get to work and start calling BINGO!!!! Good luck. Strangely, a buddy of mine and myself always joked that we would play Bingo some afternoon to kill time.

And that's exactly what we plan to do. We want to kill some time, have a few drinks and not feel like we are spending/losing a lot of money in the process. Like I said, something new.
Thanks for the tips. We will scout it out and go have some fun with the Blue Hairs.
Ill report back next week..

My wife and I played Bingo several years ago at the Plaza. I play hours of video poker, live poker and used to play relatively high stakes BJ while dealing with accusing stares from pit critters. Bingo was an intimidating experience. We were using dobbers on multiple cards and were having a hard time keeping up. At 30 something, we were the youngest people in the room by a good 30 years. It was fun but we haven't done it since.
