Uber/Lyft Downtown

Ive read it was available, then its not, then its in court.

So, whats the latest? Can we get Uber or Lyft Downtown?

As of right now Uber and Lyft are not working in Nevada. The last I heard it maybe up and working some time in July, but may be later. They are still working on the laws and getting all the regulations worked out. Found the article below. It appears now they are saying September. You never know how long it will take when government gets involved.

Dang. I dont hate Taxis, but like the option. I often feel like they are gouging me on cab fares.

Uber is cheaper and it tracks your route...so if you get long hauled at the airport you have proof....and you can get refunded. Its simply superior to a cab in every way.

i tried uber in my neck of the woods, partly out of curiosity. i needed a ride to pick up my car and didn't want to bother anyone. for a ride that is about 8 minutes from my house, i paid $7.24. fair enough. had i called a cab, i would have had to wait probably 30-45 minutes or more and pay much more than $7.24. it almost seems too good to be true. uber is a fascinating company that has grown so fast. when the dust settles after a few years of court challenges and such, it will be interesting to see if it will remain such a good deal.
