Valet

I have heard that all, or most, valet parking options are not operating at this time.  Any word on when they might be available again?  I am aware that the governor is scheduled to speak on Monday, 2/15/21, so perhaps what happens after that will also affect valet.  Not sure it has as much to do with current restrictions as it does with keeping everyone safe.  I'm hoping some of those who worked in valet will come back.  We definitely had our "favorites" that we looked for at several different places.  The Rush Tower valet at GN had some guys who were amazing.  Had our vehicle waiting for us most mornings, with some cold bottles of water.  Man I sure hope they are back and can safely do their jobs by end of this month when we travel to Vegas.  Not lazy, just some minor mobility issues.  Anyone have insider info on this?

I very much doubt that valet parking will be a thing as long as any restrictions remain in place. Regardless of what those restrictions may be in the near future, though, I would never use the valet. I can't disinfect the entire car before I hand it over to the attendant. Therefore, I'm putting him/her at great risk. I have acted and will continue to act as if I am carrying the virus--which I very well may be. Also, when the attendant retrieves my car, he can't disinfect the interior--so I'm at risk as well.

This is just another of those thousands of routine interactions we have to reconsider. Many of those interactions might become legal again, but that still doesn't mean we should perform them. For instance, I won't dine indoors in a restaurant even when it becomes possible again--not until Covid cases are much, much lower.

We have used the valet at Green Valley Ranch as recently as 3 weeks ago.  No problems, they use some plastic covers and such for safety, as well as wiping things down.  With the low visitation right now it is really easy to get a great spot by self parking at all of the casinos

There's no way they can make it safe for themselves or you. They handle your keys, they touch the steering wheel and the car's controls, etc. etc. etc. etc. It's best to just not do it.

And as you mention, the horrible, horrible, horrible inconvenience of having to park your own car is even more easily endured now that you can usually find an excellent parking spot. And you don't have to tip yourself!
