We spent 3 nights downtown this past week and visited the Vanguard Lounge to use a Groupon I had purchased. When we arrived, there were 2 people at the bar and my husband was a little skeptical. We ordered 2 drinks figuring we'd use the Groupon and get out. The drinks were outstanding and, after those two, we ordered 2 more since it was Happy Hour. The bartender was especially helpful, explaining the different drinks (they have an odd menu of cocktails) and very nice without being overbearing. As the evening progressed, it got busier so we were glad we'd gotten there earlier. If you get the chance to stop in, you won't be disappointed. It was the perfect start to a nice dinner at the Flame. We'll make this a permanent stop downtown from now on.
