Does anyone have thoughts on the Vegas Club? My girlfriend and I walked through there and it had an awful smell. Played there maybe 5 or 6 years ago and really liked the place. Seems like it went downhill? Or did we just catch at a bad time?
Reallt timing means nothing it is bad the smell is only a small portion of it's problems. It is dirty and trafiic always seems light. Use to visit quite a few years ago we always had fun playing and then eating at Great Moments. that was our drawing card but they closed and no reason to return.
There are plenty of 2-for-1 drink coupons available for the VC, so you should go in and have a drink, play a bit, but dont stay overnight.
We stayed there a year ago and the room was old and dirty. The casino was fun w/ good cocktail service (and no smell), but late at night, the back room by the stage was filled with loud thuggy kids. Apparently, we had just missed a fight too, neat!
Everything that has been said is true...but, on the other hand- They have about 30 9/6 jacks or better machines, food comps for Tinoco's are fairly easy to get and the back room dance hall with rowdy people is no longer open. If you go there with low expectations, it isn't too bad.
Honestly I think it's the dumpiest casino downtown. It's just plain sad to be in there! Go to the plaza instead, much nicer rooms, about same price. Golden nugget rooms are $49 a night. If you are with your GF, take her there.
I like the casino and have stayed there over the years. They have some good Video Poker games and I like the Virtual Blackjack there as well. Their Slot Club offers .20% cashback or .30% in Freeplay plus a separate comps account which is determined by the theoretical return of the game that you are playing.
Thanks Guys. Was just curious. We stayed at the Nugget and loved it. In my younger years I stayed at either LV Club or the Plaza, wasn't sure if I grew up or the Vegas Club went to pot. Appreciate the input, going back out there for work in a few weeks.
You're very welcome! I'm very possibly coming back to visit LV from 2/26 until 3/1.
At Las Vegas Club, on their machines that say that they are "40% Looser" I did find 9/6 Jacks Or Better VP at the Nickel, Dime, Quarter and Half-Dollar denomination levels and (although I did not check it) these same machines could also have 8/5 Bonus Poker at all of these same levels.
We stayed there a couple of times while they were remodeling the Plaza. It is pretty run down (seems like the only casino downtown that hasn't kept up with remodeling and repairs) but as people have said, the VP is good, the players club (which they share with the Plaza) is generous and the comps easy. I kind of like Tinoco's Kitchen, it's an odd place, kind of a Continental restaurant run by Filipinos. We stayed at the Plaza last night, and I spent a lot of time playing over there, simply because of the better VP availability.
