walk from Fremont St to Ellis Island Casino

How far? Do you recommend?
I'm guesing it's 6-8 miles?Quite a walk in this summer heat.
It's about 4.5 Miles one way and would involve taking Main Street and Paradise Road or Las Vegas Blvd, Paradise Road and Koval. I have no idea about the safety involved with that. Make sure that you're well hydrated and have comfortable walking shoes for a walk of that distance.

And I don't know for sure but it might be that on Paradise Road, there might not be sidewalk all the way. That should be looked into.

Geesh, that's quite a hike; sketchy area between FSE and Stratosphere, especially at night. For less than 10 bucks you can get an all day bus pass at the kiosk by Binions and ride the SDX all the way down and get off in front of the Bellagio.(stops right by the Cosmopolitan). Walk back to Flamingo, cross over LV Blvd and head east on Flamingo (past Bally's). It's a short walk to Ellis Island (corner of Flamingo and Koval). Take the bus, dude, your Las Vegas time is too valuable by wasting it walking there. To get back, catch the SDX in front of Paris casino, heading back downtown.

Glasses can affect your vision; especially when they have been emptied several times.....

Spring Break 2000 !!!

We would agree with the bus idea. We are walkers, but between the summer heat and possible safety issues, we take the bus if we don't have a car. However, we do admire your ambition.

Very good advice.

Though for just $2 each way you can take the Centennial Express and walk a lot less than the SDX.
Dont get me wrong...I like Ellis Island....but its not worth a 5 mile hike from anywhere.

Not worth it. Take a cab. You could/should walk from Ellis Island to the Westin/Max Casino then Tuscany and up to the Strip (Ballys/Cromwell). Thats an easy walk.

Not worth the LONG walk unless you want to get a close up of some unique parts of Las Vegas. I wouldn't do it.
If you have twitter, contect @LVCabChronicles. He's honest & won't longhaul you.
