Western to Close

It's too bad. Lots of good memories. Last 3 times I went, someone was taken out on a stretcher by paramedics each time...
Was there about 2 weeks ago, two hands at Blackjack, $20.00 a hand won both and left this very sorry building!!
My last visit there was 9 months ago in March when I used the ACG $5 Blackjack Matchplay Coupon. It was late at night and only one table was open, I lost the hand and then walked out. But I will miss the place. I did wish that they had a slot club because they had some (if I remember correctly) decent Video Poker.

I drug my hubby and our friend there this week - nothing like I expected! Every fluorescent ceiling light was on, flooding the place with light - nice genuine wood floor they have too!

If anyone can tell me how to post a picture here, I'd be happy to share my 'hand-pay' snapshot!

Happy Holidays - lauren in TX

I just love the Western, sad to see it go, I will be in Las Vegas for NYE, and will make a point to go before I leave on the 3rd. Love their VP.

Im assuming this is an economic thing? Are they tearing it down to build a new casino/hotel or something like that? Or is the Western just not cutting it?

Couldn't find it - it doesn't appear on any of the downtown maps.

Tony, you won't find it on the usual tourist maps, like the ones that the Venetian and the Mirage are on. It's at 8th and Fremont, a couple of blocks east of the El Cortez and a few more east of the Fremont Experience. Not a good area.
