What's the One thing you Have to do downtown?

Another vote for GC shrimp cocktail
Binions for 1 million$ photo
ABC store
Jerky store
Easy Casino hopping for cheap blackjack
I love downtown! Here are some things we always do....twice a year...

Fitzgeralds - Play live keno upstairs, throw $5 in the nickel slots to win a car, play Megabucks
Binions - Get our picture taken with the new million dollars (free)..same silly pose every year and give picture to my teenage daughter at Christmas, just to piss her off.
Golden Gate - eat a shrimp cocktail
Mermaids/Le Bayou - collect my free beads as I walk in....do a loop and walk out
former Plaza - play blackjack nearest the bar and watch the hookers do their sitting, their loop, their negotiating (wonder if it is cleaned up on their opening?)
Watch a band
Watch the weirdos
Watch the light show
Take pictures of the girls dancing on the bar outside of the Golden Gate
Drink a lot.....
GG shrimp cocktail
Fremont St crawl, where I leave a few bucks in each casino

#1 Check in
#2 get a bananna /strawberry Daiquiri from the back of Le bayoue casino. $18 with half priced refills
#3 Get either a chilie cheese dog from Mermaids (do not touch anything else in this casino!), or a shrimp cocktail from the Golden Gate and watch the scantely dressed blackjack dealers and dancers(no need to play-looking is fine!)....this of coarse needs to be done before the Daiquiri kicks in or its a waste......have antiacids standing by!
#4 after the Daiquiri kicks in, sloooooowly walk by the Girls of glitter gulch gentlmens club and let the cutie stationed outside the doors "try" to talk you into going in. They will make you the damndist offers, flirt for a while then move along. The wife said no touching, so I am still legal (vegas legal!)
#5 Walk a little further down the street and yell at the poor guy running the zip line because it has a 250 pound weight limit and their un calibrated scales say you weigh 270!
#6 Get another picture with a pair of showgirls that walk up and down Fremont street....they are so beautiful! This is a vegas must!
#7 Watch the Fremont street experiance over head show at least once per night, and hope its not one of the ones you've seen for the last three years....so bye - bye miss american pie....We will, We will- ROCK YOU!
#8 Sit at the Starbucks outdoor patio with my daiquiri and people watch (maybe even take a picture or two for the LVA trip report!)
#9 Walk across the street and belly up to a $3 craps table at the Fremont casino(4 hours minimum) and with a little luck....win!
#9 make it back to the room without doing anything too stupid, or pray that it stays in Vegas

weggies day one itinerary for Las Vegas Sept 28th!

I love your schedule except.....

I once had one of those large frozen drinks from Le Bayou. They convinced me to get the extra shot on top for a buck or two....I smiled with glee as I watched that extra "shot" pour.....

Now I had already been drinking plenty prior to this drink but.....

I remember drinking that damn thing at the Golden Gate.....then I remember waking up in my room.....then I remember running to my wallet....then I remember wondering where my missing $240 went.

My friends confirmed the next day that I had declared myself a master of "Texas HoldEm Bonus". They watched me lose a quick $200 on that and then $40 on the line at craps before they told me I needed to go back. I then remembered that I had told them that I could find my own way back, because my new plan was to go to Glitter Gulch. Well, apparently I never made it there, because I still had the rest of my money.....thank goodness. Oh yeah, that was the first I had ever heard of the Texas Holdem Bonus game....
I always get the shrimp cocktail at the GG. Then we hem and haw about where to eat dinner - last time was at the California diner where the prime rib was 9.99 or something like that and included the salad bar, potato and cherries jubilee for dessert. Next we casino hop hitting video keno machines up and down Fremont street. Then we jump out to watch a canopy show or two, then mosey on down to hear the band play. It reminds me of mardi gras.

Looking forward to staying at the Plaza again on our next trip.

Hey Janice,

I want to make sure that you know that Video Poker pay schedules can even differ from machine to machine within the same casino.

For example, I know that with 7 spots (I check the pay schedules out for a friend who plays Video Keno) that the two different pay schedules that I have seen pay 1-2-21-400-7000 for 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 spots where the better paying pay schedule pays 1-2-22-422-7000 for 3 through 7 spots. I have definitely seen both of these pay schedules Downtown and I have seen the higher one on some machines at Las Vegas Club.

Fitz Live Keno...drinks come fairly quick...and best of all they know what I drink
monkeyshed,

I actually have been sworn to secrecy to things that have happened after that "extra shot" they give you at the le bayoue!
I wish I could tell them.....they are soooo funny
