What's the One thing you Have to do downtown?

I like the Hawaiian Ice Cream Parlor in the California. They have lots of yummy flavors with island inspired ingredients...think white choclate, macadmia nuts, coconut, pineapple, etc, etc, etc... Its a nice late night treat without having to go and sit down somewhere.
Years ago, maybe 15 to 20 I stopped into a bar called the " Atomic " located about a block past the Western, had to ring a buzzer to get in, the bartender then decided whether or whether not to let you into this Very Old time bar. So every year since the early 90's I go into this dive bar, read in the LVRJ recently that they closed up. They were located on Fremont St. and held thee original Liquor Lic. # 1 first one printed in Las Vegas!!

Chicken pot pie at DuPars in the GG
Weisenheimer wheat beer at Old Chicago in the 4Q

Next we casino hop hitting video keno machines up and down Fremont street.

Hey Janice,

I want to make sure that you know that Video Poker pay schedules can even differ from machine to machine within the same casino.

For example, I know that with 7 spots (I check the pay schedules out for a friend who plays Video Keno) that the two different pay schedules that I have seen pay 1-2-21-400-7000 for 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 spots where the better paying pay schedule pays 1-2-22-422-7000 for 3 through 7 spots. I have definitely seen both of these pay schedules Downtown and I have seen the higher one on some machines at Las Vegas Club.

I now have (thanks to the Wizard Of Odds' Keno Calculator link) found that for that first pay schedule that I listed (1-2-21-400-7000) for the pay for 7 spots, the return offered is about 92.44% whereas the return from the second pay schedule (1-2-22-422-7000) is almost 94.92%. This means that the better pay schedule returns almost 2.5% more than the lower pay schedule that is usually offered.

So please check into that and try to look for and play on the higher returning pay schedules!

As crazy as this sounds....get a coffee from your favorite place ( Me= Starbuck's vanilla latte 1/2 sweet) and walk the Fremont in the early AM 7-9 before it gets too busy. Quiet and it's my favorite time of day
I was just reviewing my post from last year as I am finally staying 2 nights downtown next week. These still look very fresh and I appreciate all the ideas. There are a lot of things to fit into 2 nights

My philosophy is to NOT try to fit everything into 2 (or 6) nights. That way I have to come back...
Stop in and say hi to Ginger at Girls of Glitter Gulch.
exactly. We started out spending 3nights on the strip and 1 down town. we now spend 2 nights on the strip and 3 nights downtown.
