Who has stayed at the "D"

We are continue to plan for our fall trip and are wondering if the D is a good choice? What intrigues us is the
"old School" casino on the 2nd floor. We love the Sigma Derby. The D website naturally paints a beautiful
picture of the property and the high floor premium King rooms seem to offer all we would want
Your thoughts and ideas!!!

Thanks

i have not "stayed" there, but I have been in the rooms a time or 2. I had booked one time and then canceled after I got a better offer elsewhere. I have gambled somewhat at the D, but I never get any room offers. if it is like their sister property, Golden Gate, it will be basic lodging, small with vintage vegas feel. if you don't expect too much going in, you will be ok with it. if the swimming pool is an issue for you, it may be a deal breaker. they have a small 70's motel type of pool. AVOID THE LAUNDRY CHUTE!
We stay there all the time (easy to get free rooms and we are minimum bet penny players). We are in our 60's - rooms are adequate for us. Bathrooms have all been remodelled -no bath tubs, showers only and the water pressure is good. We prefer room with king bed as then you get a little table and two chairs to sit at in the morning and have our tea or coffee. Even number rooms face the Four Queens side of the building and one of the music stages so it can be a little noisy when the bands are playing ( and they play sometimes until 1 am), odd numbered rooms look towards El Cortez and when the Fremont Street Experience is on you can hear the bass throbbing because of where some of the speakers are positioned - but that is only for a short time. We did get a room on the higher floors a couple of times at the end of the hall and we could see the strip at night - not sure if this is what the premium king room is or not. Found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Here are some room pictures from the rooms we've had there:

If you're looking for something like Bellagio, Cosmo, or Caesars, the D won't work for you. They are basic but decent and do the trick.

The D is fine so long as you dont plan on going to bed before midnight. The fremont st experience is loud before then. They're generous with comps and room offers once you give them a little play.
