Would You Rather: Biloxi vs. Vegas..

After a small hiatus, Im finally planning my next trip to Vegas!.... kinda.

Instead of the normal solo trip, this one will be with a co-worker who is also a Vegas nut.

We were discussing the plans and the option of a Gambling/Golf Weekend in Biloxi was suggested.
So, that's my dilemma, and a damn good one to have.

Do we drive from Atlanta to Biloxi (just under 6 hours) or fly to Vegas (4 hour flight, over 6 with Airport issues)?

Biloxi Pros: Will have a car, can take our clubs and hit the beach as well.
Biloxi Cons: Not as many casinos, they are not walking distance, its not Vegas.

Vegas Pros: Its Vegas. More bang for your buck and I miss Vegas.
Vegas Cons: More expensive with flight, No Golf, No Comp Rooms

Considering this is a Vegas Website, Im pretty sure I know where most will lean, but thought Id throw it out to my Vegas (message board) family..

Thoughts?

Why no car in Vegas? Rental cars are cheap and plentiful in Vegas, especially when you have a friend to split the cost.

Why no golf in Vegas? Golf is very popular in Vegas, lots of terrific courses.
I'm not trying to be mean but why is this in the Downtown thread?

Too expensive to ship clubs and I haven't felt the need to rent a car because 99% of my Vegas trips are Downtown and I can walk everywhere or take the bus. I would like to rent a car one day and see some of the local casinos, but I also like to have a drink when gambling and don't want to chance it.

I put this in the downtown thread because I am a downtown nut and all my trips are downtown. Plus, anytime I post anything, its in this thread. Guess Ive come to know the characters on this board.

What do you play? If you play VP or single or DD BJ then Vegas is best. If you just want to play golf then it doesn't matter. With comp rooms in Biloxi and a car, but you drink and don't like to drive. Down town LV has cheep rooms and your close to everything. In Biloxi a cab ride from the Beau to the IP cost $7.00+tip and walking distance to Hard Rock. In Vegas a cab ride can be just that a ride! The bus on the strip is $10 for 24 hours or $6.00 for 2 hours, not cheep but it can be fun. I go to both Biloxi and Vegas, comped rooms for 22 to 30 nights for both. This is a major thing for me. As for gaming I play VP in Vegas and table games in both, limits are not a problem in either. As for food, both have everything I want as Vegas fly's in fresh fish every day. Whatever you chose just have a good time. Oh! if you are looking for strippers "nude" then I like North Las Vegas best, use a cab.
Hi Marko,

Here's my Two Cents on this:

It sounds to me like you'd get more bang for your buck in LV (although I understand that the flight could cost you more money and a bit more time) -- but for you I guess this depends on how you feel about giving up on the idea of golfing.

Another question I have for you is what are the other costs in Biloxi (such as for food and other stuff) and how does it compare to LV? And it's likely that the gaming rules and returns (and entertainment options if you want any of that) are better in LV than Biloxi as well.

And since your friend is a LV nut as well, why not go to the place you love anyway?

I'm saying this because I remember your saying that it might be quite a while before you were able to go back to LV because of the birth of your child, so I think that that's even more reason for you to go to LV instead of Biloxi!

And maybe this trip can help make up for the time that your Radio show crew went to LV but you couldn't go! So GO to LV!

After lots of back and forth.. We decided you cant pass up the chance to play in Vegas..

The flight was expensive.. but free rooms, and lets be honest, its Vegas!

Cant wait to get back..

Well good, Marko! I say that because there is nothing like LV, so why not go to Mecca if that's a definite option? It's not like it's go to Biloxi or no gaming at all! And you might be able to get some relatively inexpensive rooms as well (I know that they aren't free, but it could be worse) one way or another (such as with a deal like is in the ACG or MRB -- but keep in mind any possible (depending on where you end up staying) "Resort Fees."

But I'm now seeing that in your first and last post in this thread, it says No Comp Rooms and then it says Comp Rooms. So, which one is it?

Sorry - No Comp Rooms in Biloxi. I have a few options for Comps in Vegas.

Debating between Golden Gate, Plaza or 4 Queens.
Leaning towards Plaza since I haven't stayed there since the renovation a few years ago.

I love GG, but want a pool too, so the Plaza may be the way to go on this trip.

I think that Plaza is a nice place and the pool was definitely there when I visited in March. With Four Queens, I'm pretty sure that there are pool privileges at Binion's for there (but you can check for sure on that).
