AC Changes Diamond Lounge requirements

Got a mailer today from CET informing us that AC Diamond Lounges will be free only to 7 Stars or Diamonds who have earned 25,000 tier last year or this year. We have only been to AC once, a few weeks ago. Compared to LV, the food offerings were fantastic and served all day long! It certainly wasn't gourmet faire, but decent and good tasting with more than enough choices. The flyer said that due to overwhelming scores of D or F for food there, they are instituting the change and will offer a carving station and more choices. Obviously the people that graded it "F" have never seen the food at LV Lounges!

You can also use 2000 tier points Each Person to enter, each visit. So if you stop in for a quick bite for lunch and leave and wish to return later, there's another charge.

Kinda sounds like Borgata.

Bartenders knew it because they said they would have all top shelf liquor on June 13.

2000 tier points to enter? Did you mean 2000 reward credits?

I am going back to AC next weekend. Can't remember what my final tier was last year but I think it was around 23,000. Hoping that they deduct RC's and not tier credits.

$20.00 per person?

I think that's twice as much as what Trump or the Borgata charges to go into their lounges. They only charge $10 per person in comp dollars.

was at showboat yesterday-----saw the flyer-----talked to the bartender, the check-in person and players club rep-----

for those diamond card holders that do not have 25,000 in teir points there will be a$10 charged against your comp acct every time you enter----1st guest will also be charged $10 in comps-,this is new-----2 more guests will be charged $25 each against your comp acct, this is the same-----can not pay cash ,only reward credits, this is the same

bartender sez some people come in 3 to 4 times a day ,7 days a week----

players club rep sez some people get to 11,000 credits to get the diamond card and play no more for the rest of the year and continue to use the diamond lounge while playing elsewhere

also can no longer use a spouses card ----could do this previously even though you could not bring in any guests---trying to rule out husband -wife team using 1 card to get to 25,000,then each coming in seperately and cardholder bringing in a free guest

showboat will be the 1st to go this route starting monday----they intend to iron out loose ends before implementing in the remaining casinos in ac
Here is the letter I received at the diamond lounge yesterday at the Showboat.

Dear Valued Diamond Guest,
As a Total Rewards Diamond member you surely have experienced many of the great amenities we have to offer. Providing these amenities is only one promise we make. Another promise is delivering a first rate service experience that exceeds your expectations with every visit.
We recently conducted surveys in our Atlantic City Diamond Lounges. You told us loud and clear that we needed to improve the experience and the current offerings. In addition, the feedback you have provided through our customer service surveys told us we had to improve the quality of our lounges. In fact, less than half of you rated the Diamond Lounge experience as exceptional. We have heard consistent feedback that the food quality in particular has been less than exceptional. About 40% of you rated the food in the Diamond Lounges at a D or F level this year.
I want you to know we heard you! Based on your feedback we are pleased to announce an enhanced Diamond Lounge experience. On June 13th you will find additional offerings including more entrees, carving stations and seafood. We are certain you will find this new experience more enjoyable and worthy of your Diamond status.
Additionally, we are making changes to the entrance policy to our Diamond Lounges in Atlantic City. This benefit will remain free for Seven Stars member and their guests. Free admission will also be granted to Diamond customers that have earned a tier score of 25.000 or greater in the prior or current year. However, beginning June 13th, 1,000 reward credits will be charged for each admission to the Diamond Lounge for customers whose play levels do not meet the above levels.
The purpose of the charge is to provide a first rate experience each and every time you visit the Diamond Lounge. We hope that those of you that currently enjoy our Diamond Lounges will continue to do so while those that do not frequent them today will find the experience to be a new benefit that lives up to your high expectations.
Sincerely,

Don Marrandino

I think 1,000 reward credits is reasonable if they really do improve the food and top shelf liquor. However, I hope this policy stays in AC and does not spread to LV. I'm willing to forgo food in the LV lounges for "free" access to the lounges for drinks. Love to lounge hop while in LV.

I received the letter in the mail today. It did include two free passes good until 8/31 (since my tier score has never been over 25K).
I agree that the food wasn't that great, but I sure wasn't complaining about it since it was free.
My issue is with changing it in the middle of the year. Will be interesting to see if they make any exceptions for folks whose tier score last year was close to 25K. I'd really be pissed if my tier score last year was 24K
We received our letters today.
My letter included two free passes for self plus a guest. Paul 's did not.
Sorry about the mix up on reward/tier credits.

I, too, have a problem with changing the rules in the middle of a year.

when we visited the Borgate (not their VIP Lounge), we asked how much "coin in" to earn a comp dollar. The clerk told us $125.00. Is this correct? If so, it takes a lot more play at Borgate than at CET.

I honestly think that people will stay LONGER, not go out and play, to "get their money's worth." That being said, when in Vegas we stay several hours for the camaraderie and still go out and play just as much as if we would have gambled all along. I don't thinks CET gets that.
