AC Changes Diamond Lounge requirements

I agree that the food wasn't that great, but I sure wasn't complaining about it since it was free.
My issue is with changing it in the middle of the year. Will be interesting to see if they make any exceptions for folks whose tier score last year was close to 25K. I'd really be pissed if my tier score last year was 24K

I emailed Total Rewards this morning inquiring about AC's new policy and that I was not sure what my final tier score for 2010 was. I received this reply:

"Thank you for writing us here at Caesars Windsor.

Your Tier Score balance for 2010 was 22,906.

During your Atlantic City visit you may want to contact a Casino Host to give them the opportunity to review your account and at that time you can inquire about the specific requirements for their Diamond Lounge access."

I also received the mailer today outling the program change but I did not get the two free passes others have mentioned receiving. Maybe because I am not a frequent AC visitor?

I'll be checking in to the Showboat next Fri & I'll check then to see if I can meet w/a host. Couldn't hurt to ask again what my final 2010 tier was and if I qualify for free entry in 2011. I'll report back once I get home and post what happened in case anyone cares

I received my letter today as well. I did not get any free passes. I just barely made diamond the last week of December, but I presently have a tier score of 9900.

I feel that 1000 RC's is reasonable if these new offerings are comparable to Borgata.
Ouch, another one bites the dust! Received the mailer today, no free pass's for me! I knew I should have played more of that darn slot machine. 21254 Tier last year, close but no cigar. So I must pay at the lounge. 4-5 years back, when Harrahs tried to implement the " if you did not earn XXX points that day" you had to pay. This sorta made sense as alot of folks did DIAD, and ate all year with out playing much. If you played that day, under that proposed system, you were able to visit the lounge for "free". They tried that one mid year also, but it did not fly. Harrahs made the system though and people were working it, as they should. I never thought the food was that bad, was not gourmet or anything, but for "free" who can bitch. The lounges are still a nice place to go have a drink and perhaps watch the game/race/soap or whatever and catch a snack and escape the casino noise for a spell. I'm guessing that if this one stays the course, the lounges will not be as busy!
it's reasonable.
When I go to a DL (in AC) I have at least 2 cappachinos and eat-

I got this part of an e-mail from a friend:

" On their side of things, they are holding up they're part of the bargain...last weekend I stopped in at Caesars DL and they were serving a 'clam bake' with big bowls of snow crabs, shrimp and real lobsters (I had a really good lobster tail!) and a terrific linguini with clams. And STILL there were people complaining. "too many potatoes in the bowl"...well just pick out the seafood you idiot!
I was amazed by the whole thing."

So if youre Both Diam. Do they take One entry off ea. card, or are you better doing it
the old way..........2 entries off One card? lather rinse repeat?
I'm sure there are quite a few less people in the lounge after this change in policy....... Didn't get any free passes either, and Lyn and I were both Diamond separately last year... Not sure if it's worth $20 or not yet.....

Looks like it's $20 either way....... Not sure if it affects ADT, if so, then one card is better.....
Got back from AC last night. I checked with a host Friday night regarding my tier score from last year (22,906) and that I am already at 13,000 tier this year just in case they would give me a pass for lounge entry. No dice. Not really a big deal but I thought I would check.

We visited the diamond lounges three times over the weekend. Once each at Showboat, Harrah's and Caesars over the course of three days. Each time, while waiting to get in, we had people in front of us complaining about the new policy. Some even walking away angrily. I felt bad for the entry people having to endure this all day. They all asked the customer if they got the policy change info in the mail (they all said "yes") and they were equipped with letters to distribute explaining the change.

Food seemed to be better but I am only basing this on one previous trip to AC's diamond lounges back in March. Each had a carving station with prime rib and turkey. Waiters/Waitresses offered shrimp cocktail each time. They bring it to your table - it's not on the buffet. The shrimp is medium sized and peeled. Pretty good. I tried to look at the bottles behind the bar to see if they were top shelf. I did see Grey Goose but no Bombay Sapphire. We weren't drinking martinis this trip so I didn't ask for drinks by brand to see if they had it. We stuck to margaritas, long island iced teas & beer.

Lounges were not crowded at all. Maybe a (nice) side effect of charging the points.
