AC Questions

Planning a get away to the Philly area. What info can you give me on AC. Looking at staying at a Harrahs property. Also is it to far to stay in AC and site see in Philly? Which of the 4 casino's is best to stay at? Play at? Bring on all you info please.
I can't help you with the hotels but it's about an hour from AC to Philly.
Harrah's is on the back bay away from the boardwalk. The Borgata & Golden Nugget are next to Harrah's.
Ceasar's is right on the boardwalk & the beach is right there. The Showboat is also on the boardwalk next to Revel at the northern end of the boardwalk. The Borgata has good high end restaurants. All Harrah's properties have crappy VP pay tables. There are a very few VP machines with good pay tables.

The drive to Philly is about an hour on the AC expressway.

Harrahs is in the marina section of town, rooms are quite nice, great buffet!! Outdoor and indoor pools with pool parties at night. Ceasars is on the boardwalk, rooms are okay, easy to walk to Bally's casino next door (I have never stayed at Ballys). the Showboat is on the other end of the boardwalk, next to Resorts with their new Margaritaville casino, and Trump's Taj Mahal.

It's all a matter of preference of where you want to be located. Any Harrah's property you choose, you will see water. I like Harrahs the best. You can drive to the boardwalk, or take the free Harrah's shuttle, or take the Jitney. The shuttle and Jitney is a good way to get around if you want to have some cocktails.

Be sure to wear your seatbelts. Police officers in town check for them and readily hand out tickets. Stop lights are more than plentiful and people get nabbed all the time while waiting for the lights. Across from Ceasars, there is also "the walk" which is an outlet center if you like to do some shopping for bargains.

Just came back from Harrah's and the rooms are very nice. We actually liked them better than the Harrah's in Vegas. They all have a coffee pot and refrigerator.
The one thing I'm glad we did is since we arrived early morning and check-in is not until 4, is we paid the extra money for early check-in. At 4 p.m the line was almost out the door to check in and we didn't have to deal with it.
Do you know if they had a Diamond Line check in?
Yes , All Caesar's properties in AC have diamond check-in lines .
About fifteen minutes from Ac is a nice old town called Smithville. Nice antiquing and such. Just south of Ac is Margate, Ventor and Longport. Few visitors make it to them but its a nice diversion from the casinos. Go see Lucy, the five story elephant.
Drive to Philli is not that bad, nice 1 hour drive nothing like driving in Chicago.
If driving isn't your thing, you can take the train to/from AC to Philadelphia.
