My views re: CET properties are most in line with Rowanb's. I don't play at Resorts. I do like the Caesars rooms and the big non-gaming appeal for me for AC is seeing the ocean, so I have bias, all other things being equal, to the boardwalk casinos.
I love the Borgata, rooms and gaming, but one thing not mentioned is the ability of play at CET properties (better ones are Harrah's and Caesars though Bally's IMO has the best quarter VP) to do double duty re: Vegas in a way that's hard if not impossible to do with other AC casinos.
I haven't been to AC in months but am thinking about a trip later this month. At Bally's and Showboat -- every day of the month -- it's 3x reward credits. I can't make it on Mondays, but Mondays are 10x reward credits, I believe at all of the CET properties. So, I can get a decent comped room at Caesars or Harrah's (Bally's okay too, depending on the room), Diamond lounge, decent quarter and dollar VP, and a great comp-earning opportunity I can use for my trip to Vegas later in the year.
There's a way you can use Borgata comp dollars in Vegas if you are staying at MGM properties -- I cashed in a slew of comp points years ago for 3 nights at the Bellagio -- but with Vegas CET comped rooms readily available, that would not make sense for me to do; for others YMMV.
