Anyone been to Cleveland Horseshoe lately?

I have only been there once, which was last May. I really liked the bank of progressive video poker on the 2nd floor. My husband and I are planning a trip in mid-Feb. Today I read in Ohio Magazine that Horseshoe has added 24 new table games on the 2nd floor and has taken out 200 slots. The good VP was very close to the table games. Now I am worried that we will be disappointed, and it might not be worth the trip.

Has anyone been lately and do you know if they still have the progressive VP? They also had a bank of VP that had progressives not only on the royal but straight flush, certain 4 of kinds etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
The one change in the video poker on the 2nd floor is the wall of progressives that were quarter 9/6 DB are now $ 9/6 JOB on progressive on the royal. The quarter JOB are still the same and my daughter was there on a night when someone won the sequential royal. Some tables were put in near total rewards on the 2nd floor.
Thanks for the info. We live in Toledo and we go to Cleveland a lot, but always with our son, so we can't both go to the casino. He will be out of town with school and we decided to give it a shot. If we don't like it we will come back and go to Detroit!
Hows the quarter VP? I'll be staying there (Ritz-Carlton) March 20th, after watching the Cavs beat the Heat!

Best schedule on quarter poker is 8/6 JB on some machines. 7/5BP, 9/6DB, 9/5TDB. They are very nice machines. It can get very busy especially when a promotion is going on and with the Cavs game as well. I hope the Cavs do beat the Heat. Kyrie is on a roll right now. Hopefully, they're getting it together. The Ritz is very nice.

Is the Ritz connected to the Horseshoe or do I have to walk outside???

FWI....I'll be pulling for the Cavs (and my 2 cousins who will drive up from Akron to meet me) however most of those folks who are traveling with me (our children and their friends) will be Heat fans. Made the journey to Detroit 2 years ago to see them vs. the Pistons because I waited till Dec to try and get tickets to Quicken. I locked these 22 tickets down (@ $55.00 per) in October !!

No need to go outside but a fairly long walk through a mall and up and down several elevators. We really enjoyed our stay there and intend to return.

It's interesting how different people react to LeBron. It's pretty easy to root for the Heat with such an all-star lineup. I know a lot of people in Akron still support LeBron whatever because he has done so much for their communtiy. Interesting that your Akron cousins support Cleveland. Are you from this area?

It's a very easy walk ... probably 5-7 minutes depending on the elevators. I did have to ask someone there the best way to go.

From your room go down 2 sets of elevators (the first takes you down to the lobby on the 6th floor, the second to the hotel/valet entrance on W. 3rd). Then, instead of turning left to go out to the street, you turn right and go through a glass door. At this point you will be overlooking the Tower City Mall from the 3rd level. The casino is on the 1st level and to your left. Walk left and go down a couple escalators (or the stairs if you're so inclined) then follow the signs to the casino.

I'll be there for a free night this coming Sat. and was hoping to see a Cavs game (they are playing OKC). But my wife won't sit up high and the cheapest tickets I could find down below were around $100 per, and that's just too big a bite out of my gambling budget, so no Cavs game this time.

Enjoy your trip and GO CAVS!
david,

Try flashseats.com for those Cavs tickets. You can bid for tickets or just offer what people are asking. These are seats usually being sold by season ticket holders that cant make the game. you should be able to score club level seats for around $55 to $60
