Anyone been to the new Hollywood casino in Toledo?

Headed up to Toledo next weekend to visit our son. chances are we will stop there. He hasn't made it there yet either, but says on the opening weekend the local radios were announcing not to got as there was no parking and they were having to bus customers in. Long lines just to play a machine. He called last night and advised not to get a room near the casino as the neighborhood is really bad, and he lives up there.
My friends went and said the same thing hard to get on a machine . Everything is packed. But they had fun.
Visited opening weekend. Did get a parking spot near door. This was late Saturday afternoon. Waited in line for about 30 minutes to get players card. Long line but moved! Did get on a few machines. Everything seemed tight. No one was really hitting at least the sound of hitting anything wasn't there. Long wait at buffet, $30.00 per person on weekends, but it was ok. More deserts than anything! Not a desert girl oh well. If anyone has been to Firekeepers in MI the casino is kind of like that. Lots of play lines on the machines which takes some money to play for anything good. Very clean no smoking allowed inside, very upbeat atmosphere the crowd was 20-30 age set, especially after 7. A new place to gather. Probably won't be back there for a while. Like Soaring Eagle better. Overall it was smaller inside than I expected.

We live in Toledo and had been waiting for the opening of the Hollywood Casino. From some other posts I got the idea that video poker would be bad. Since this is all we play, we were hoping they were wrong. Unfortunately, everyone was correct. This was the worst video poker we have every seen. Jacks or Better was 6/5 and Bonus Poker returned 5 coins for 2 pair. We did find a few deuces that were barely playable. They had the VP in two sections, all in Game Maker type machines. They were very tedious to use to see the paytables, and even though they were new machines, the touch screens didn't work in a lot of them. You had to check the paytables carefully, because side by side machines did not have the same paytable. Taking the time to look carefully was needed.

The casino looked nice, and it was nice to have it smoke free. They have lots of self-serve beverage areas around the casino, which was another nice touch. We didn't eat anything, but the buffet looked about average.

I doubt we will be back unless they fix the VP tables. We have been making the drive to Detroit and we will continue to do so. With Greektown having 9/6 Jacks and decent deuces and DDB, I can't justify playing in Toledo, even though we live there.
We live in Michigan and heard great things about the Casino. Just got back and probably won't go back again for awhile...Machines were very tight, only got one Bonus on any machine I played. It is true that Jacks were 6/5 horrible..but I decided I would play cause I was losing at slots..I finally found a decent machine that I could play on for quite some time. Only hit one quad. My friend hit a guad in DDB and the lady next to me hit a Royal.. It was the worse paytables I have played anywhere.. My Husband won $300.00 on craps so it wasn't a bad day. I can play here at Greektown with decent slots and good VP..
It only takes us an hour to get to Greektown, so that is where we'll play. Glad you had fun.
