Made my first AC trip in six months to the Tropicana. Things I noticed:

Trop North Tower room I had seemed to be newly renovated. Spacious and clean with a separate service sink area, which I need for my son's various dishes. Thank you, Sylvia at front desk!

All horse rooms closed in AC except for Borgata. That was disappointing.

New Taco place in Trop serves great food.

Buffet is serviceable, with ACG coupon. I definitely need more of those.

Firewaters at Trop has 16 oz PBR cans for $3 and a coupon for a $5 Vodka/Gin/Watermelon Martini or Cosmo.

Harrahs properties continue to charge for self park while rest of town, besides Borgata, offer it for free. I'm finished with them.

Still haven't hit a Royal since Super Bowl day 2009, but won $600 on a penny Hee Haw machine to offset VP losses.

Trop will be my new go to place in AC, as the gambling is decent, food and drink options are great, and slot club giveaways like gas cards and shop rite cards are usable.
I appreciate this information.
We will be at the Trop/ AC in just a couple of weeks.

Thanks for your thoughts. We have been staying at the Trop for many years. I always ask for North Tower rooms, as they are close to the casino. I avoid the West tower which is almost always full of 20 somethings who like to drink and party in the room for half the night and then slither drunk to the clubs where they purchase one drink only. I am there to play the machines, not drink or go clubbing!

Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Hmmm, I guess we were in the West Tower when we stayed there, the room was okay. I haven't given them any play since a few years ago during a loss rebate guarantee. I have been playing at the Taj and Resorts because I have a good idea of what play will get me weekend room comps, plus the Taj has $1 9/6 jacks and Resorts has a few (two, I think), but they also have alot of 50c 8/5 BP. What turns me off on the Trop is the location, but maybe in the fall I'll give them a full chance.

Not so fast......Stayed at Taj last month. Chairman tower room was great, and White House Subs on property is a GREAT benefit. Plus they have breakfast sandwiches.
This topic intrigues, as my interest rose when Ac joints fell down. At the Revel opening, but unable to force myself to play short pay. Once stayed at boredwalk, bye. Borgata betta then parts of full pay slipped. What's left is sometimes in short supply. The extravagant $/pt for CET finally forced me to face the facts and turn in EZ pass. FasFwd: I'll be back after labberday, looking to get value for my low roller action. And if CeT can't comp better than ! Pt/fitty in, what's best? Thanks and good luck!
Hey Now!
Resorts- hands down. They still appreciate their VP players. Even the low rollers. Epic (mid-level) is only 50 points. Pretty easy to make, I average 70- 90 points on a 3 day trip, playing .50 8/5 BP. New food court, and Gallagher's and Capproccio's upstairs have great food.
Rb, a hero! I asked for help preparing for my return to Ac, and you got me details. Thanks, and Good luck!
