Atlantic City's Atlantic Palace

Anybody ever stay here? Any good?

It never impressed me from the outside and I ask because my sister is making her first foray to AC (of course she doesn't ask her dumb little brother who has been to AC).

I stayed there about 14 yrs ago and was not impressed....Also you need to walk to a casino ...Not to good to do at night.
I was planning a non gambling trip to AC and wanted to be at that end of the boardwalk, so
I went in and looked around.

The actual rooms were ok, for a budget hotel.
The pool area would have been ok.

Biggest problem is the entry to the main lobby is off the boardwalk.
At night it would not be that safe.
You can enter from the boardwalk, but the door is locked and there is no security at that enterance.

Seriously, this was an easy decision. We stayed at the Showboat for about the same price
and it was fine.
like to play where i stay-----the showboat is near bye---and -----has inside walkway to the taj---which has an inside walkway to resorts----a consideration in the winter months as well as safety------resorts may give the best deal---

Hoops,
don't you remember the laugh out loud photo Jenipher posted of the ply wood slate bed w/ a 3 inch mattress?
That was Atlantic Towers.
I think there is a slight mix up here.
Atlantic Towers is a high rise located next to Resorts on Pacific Ave. I have no idea what the rooms are like there but NoahCat evidently does!
Atlantic Palace is a high rise located between Bally's and Resorts on the Boardwalk.
Atlantic Club (ACH)is the new name of the previous AC Hilton property. I have stayed there many times. The rooms are very nice (they fit the Hilton standard) but I wasn't impressed with the restaurants nor the isolation of the property all the way in the South end of the boardwalk.
