Unless the video poker stinks, it is a move that might get my business. I like to finish my playing day on the bar top machines while having a couple glasses of wine. Since all tbe bars at the casinos (except the lobby bar at Ballys which has bad VP) allow smoking, the smokers tend to gather there. Fortunately, the ventilation is good and, usually, I can find a machine that isn't directly in the path of someones smoke. However, I person with a cigar can permeate the entire area.
As an ex smoker, I was very disappointed when the non-smoking law was repealed in AC (after being in effect for about 3 days). I was there during that 3 day period and I remember the bartender telling me how much better she felt when she hadn't had to breathe cigarette smoke all day. The AC folks panicked when the casinos opened in Philly and they saw their business drop off dramatically. They were allowing smoking in Philly casinos, so they changed their minds about banning it in AC.
We're working in New York City to exile all the smokers to New Jersey (or Philly).
