I go to Lake George, which is south of Lake Placid. We visit Saratoga casino when we are in that area. They offer some specials for the over 50 crowd. Video poker is horrible, but the slots are pretty good. I find some new kinds that I don't find anywhere else, so they are a fun distraction.
We will be stopping there in 3 weeks! I have not heard of any close to Lake Placid.
