Ballys A. C. - Comp room fee??

Just returned from a 2 night comped stay at Ballys in A. C. At check out there was $26.00 in fees. $6.00 of that was for a $3.00 "Comp room Fee"

I didnt complain since it was a profitable trip, but is this another way to get around resorts fees? Or is it mandatory in A. C. that charge that fee??

I hope this is not a precursor of things to come for VEGAS!!
It's a state mandated fee . At one time you could use your comps to cover all fees and tax, but CET does not allow that any more. Don't know about the other properties.
AFAIK, only at CET properties will you be charged a comp room fee and other such BS adding up to $13/night.
Borgata and Resorts only charge $5 per night. ($3 State Occupancy fee and $2 Tourism fee). Borgata will automatically take it out of your comps.
It is a state fee, however, as noted different casinos charge different fees. Harrah's/Caesars has charged the most ($13 a night) for years. They'll eat the fee for their really big players, but not for most supposedly free rooms. It's not really a resort fee, since you still have to pay for Internet access and, in the case of Bally's, pay for use of the pool. It's a bit of a scam, in my eyes, since the company appears to tack on their own fees to the state tax.

The Trump properties recently increased their fee to $10 (from $5) a night.

As far as I know, Borgata is the only property that lets you use comp dollars to pay this.

Hey Now! Resorts lets you use comps for rooms now, not sure about the $5, but I'll find out next weekend!
