A. C. Ballys or Resorts?

Gonna be in A.C. for 2 days in Jan. Plan on being strickly boardwalk since its such a short time. I have 2 night comp offers from Ballys and Resorts (also Showboat). I've never stayed at either (just harrahs and ceasars). Looking for feedback on thier rooms!
Haven't seen the Resorts rooms but Bally's are decent and I think Bally's is a lot more fun. I don't know what the truth is but when I visited AC over the summer there seemed to be constant labor/management problems at Resorts with employees picketing outside. Bally's management may not be the best but they don't have that problem, at least not publicly. On that basis alone I'd pick Bally's. Lastly, you are in the CET system so I'd build up my play there. Lotta action at Resorts won't take you very far anywhere else.
Hey Now!
If you pick Resorts- go for the Rendezvous Tower... NOT the Ocean Tower...
Plenty of .25 8/5 BP there too..
Resorts Rondevous towers are newer but only have large showers, not bathtubs.. Bally's has more choices: Ruby Rooms w/ giant jacuzzi tubs if you don't mind walking to "The Ridge", Tower rooms, casino floor., denis tower...
both casinos are pretty much the same but as fflowers says , stay w/ Bally's for RC..and it's a hallway away from Caesars A+

Noahcat and FFlowers...say no more. Booked a Ballys Luxury Tower Room for 2 nights 1/17-19th!.

Might book 1 free night, Thursday, at Resorts (Rendevous tower-flysrb) just so that I can say that I've seen their rooms.
Champster,
If you end up in the main tower, request a corner room, high floor, ocean view if thats your thing. (its mine!) These rooms are dated, but awesome ocean view, about 230 degree view. Dennis tower
rooms that I have had are updated, but with a crappy view, never stayed in a Ruby room. Ballys AC
still has a decent inventory of FPVP, but has thinned out some in the last year, but still better than any other Ceasars AC property. Cheap eats at johnny rockets on the boardwalk, 2 for 1 for RC's though. Good seafood at Harrys but also double RC's. 6x/noodle village/pickles food ok, Arturos and Range, very good food, mid - high price. Nanking, good food, decent lunch special. Ballys spa (pool/hot tubs/saunas) is nice to escape the casino for a bit, they have an adult swim,(read kid free), check on times, neat view of the ocean boardwalk and laid back. Free for > diamond. And of course as Noahcat sez, hallway away from Ceasars for so much more .

Enjoy!
Appreciate the info Dave. Is the pool indoors? What's the cost for a Platinum to use the spa??
Champster,
Spa/Pool is inside, 8th floor? main tower. I think $5/$10? for entry to main pool/whirlpool/sauna for ballys guest, $25 for ceasars? then I think they have an extra charge for the steam sauna and other stuff. They did accept reward credits for payment. Its usualy cheaper here for an hour than in the casino. Pool was emptied last trip in November, maybe 14 people in the place during adult swim. Now that they have opened up for Diamond for free, and I think? they closed the ridge pool, the pool has gotten busier. Sun deck avialable from here too, but may be a little frosty in January!!
Bally's pool area is pleasant, though there is (as noted) a $10 charge for anyone in the room (up to I think 4 people) to visit. It is considerably better than the relatively small Resorts pool area.

The more recently renovated rooms at Bally's are in the Dennis, Garden, and Claridge Towers. I don't like the way the new Claridge rooms look and they're still limited to the size/shape of the original rooms, so if offered a Claridge Tower (the renovated rooms are the "Ruby" rooms), then I would be unhappy. The Garden Tower rooms are actually some of the better rooms on the property, though they have crummy views. Here's an example of a Garden Tower room: https://eclva.blogspot.com/2008/12/ballys-atlantic-city-garden-tower-room.html

You're most likely to end up in the Bally's Tower, which were very attractive rooms 15-20 years ago. They haven't aged very well, but still offer great views on the city and/or ocean. As mentioned, the corner rooms feature larger bathrooms (giant tub and separate shower), so if you're going to be in the main Tower and only need one bed, then ask for a corner room. Here's what they look like:

Great Pics Rowan. Thanks!!
