A. C. - Harrahs Marina or Showboat?

I have not been to A. C. in years. Lil sis (FFLOWERS) suggested that, since I've decided on going there during March, that I should call a CET property and give them my players card and see what happens.

Well I cant find my T. R. card and since I havent played any great amount at a CET property of time while in Vegas ( I love Stations and Coast properties), I figured that the CET reservation person will laugh at me. I called yesterday and gave my info and after they found my T. R. info (although they wouldnt give me the info) .They then offered me....4 COMPED weekdays at either Harrahs or the Showboat (March 26th-30th). I took the Harrahs offer thinking that maybe they made a mistake so I better get it before they change their mind, and then I'd come to my LVA family and find out which of the 2 is better.

I'll have car so getting to/from the boardwalk is no biggie. I like poker, Pai gow poker and good VP. Throw in a nice fitness center/spa and buffet and I'm good. Looking for advice as to whether or not I should switch to the Showboat for the 4 or keep my Harrahs???

Thanks in advance for any advice!
I've been to the AC casinos once 3 summers ago and stayed at Harrahs Marina. Lunch at the buffet was very good. I played very little VP then and can't comment on the pay tables, however, Harrahs Marina seemed cleaner and more organized than Caesars, Wild Wild West and Ballys. The Trump property located near Caesars at that time was cleaner and better maintained. If you don't feel like driving or dealing with parking, I believe Harrahs has a shuttle and the jitneys go to the different properties.
Hey Lisa. Thanks for the feedback!
I'm fairly certain that the Showboat does not have a fitness center but I could be mistaken. I know Harrahs does. They also have the indoor pool area while Showboat only has an outdoor one. Harrahs has a food court area so has more options for eating w/o having to go to the buffet or a sit down restaurant. In the summer I would prefer to stay at the Showboat to be near the ocean and boardwalk. We were just at Harrahs the beginning of January and had a great time. The jitneys are only $2.50 if you want to leave the area and not drive. Plus, you can use the Harrahs shuttle since you would be staying there and it free-it just takes longer.

Great feedback tmaiolo. I thought when searching for fitness center info at the Showboat that I was just not searching hard enough.

I did find the Red Spa and fitness center at Harrahs (although it looks like it's $15.00 a day to use ) but that does help. Food court is also a big plus. I think that I read that it costs $5.99 a day to self park at Harrahs? Is that right????

Now Im just hoping that someone can tell me about the quality of the rooms, and the buffets, at both!

Thanks again Tracy!!!
THe Showboat does have a fitness center.

The shuttle between CET properties runs ABOUT twice an hour.
Harrahs is way nicer- less traffic-ed but Showboat is on the Boardwalk so it depends if you want to "GET OUT"-- I need a back door in a casino-~~ like to foot it to Resorts or Taj on a whim-- Harrah's is alone- but like I said, it's a better place to stay, newer rooms and such and you can't beat the Spa (Well, Borgata beats it) Jitneys are a PITA in Winter/ Cabs will cost you $12.00.. visit Borgata at least ONCE...
Noahcat has spoken . Looks like 4 nights at Harrahs. I'm driving so tyranspo to/from Broadwalk wont be difficult... but I did read somewhere today that you pay 5.99 a day to self park???? Is that right?????? Possibly in and out at 5.99 per pop?????

First time back in over 5 years. Looking forward to it.

Frank thanks for the fitness center correction at the Showboat. I see that there are Casinos in Philly! Any info on any of those (since I have to drive thru Philly to get to A. C.??

They do charge for parking in AC, however, don't know how much. They also charge room tax on comped rooms in New Jersey.
My room was located in the tower near registration. It was the type with the dark wood floors, clean and comfortable.
Champ,
Those dates will be empty- they need to fill the rooms.. you'll get a small bus crowd (Not really as the buses dump folks on the boardwalk) the place will be deadwood ghost-town in the AM and the PM.
Reception area Lobby is shocking classy.
Reflections is the name of the coffeeshop and bring your swim trucks as the pool is their shinning gem (It's a Tarrarrium) sp?
I know non-swimmers who go there to read the newspaper and just relax.
