A. C. - Harrahs Marina or Showboat?

Harrah's is way nicer than Showboat. No contest if you have a car.
If you want to get out for a walk, walk to Borgata or Golden Nugget...both about 10 minute walks from Harrah's...short by LV standards! Do check out Borgata.
The pool at Harrah's is amazing, even if you don't swim. Bring a suit just to lounge and read the paper.
The fitness room is in the pool area. The pool area is a huge multi-storied atrium that is fantastic on a winter's day!
Next to the pool is a Red Door Spa...very nice. Free use with any spa treatment, $40 without a spa treatment. Getting a haircut for $35 does count as a spa treatment so I sometimes go down on a weekend that I need a haircut and get it at Red Door and enjoy the spa for the day.
Unlike LV, all of the CET properties have some full pay vp at the $.25/.50/1.00 level but you have to know where they are. Well, less than $1.00 is only at Harrah's and Showboat, Bally's and Caesars only at $1.00.
Unlike LV, the Diamond lounges serve full meals (an abridged buffet) and have an open bar. I believe this is because most guests in AC are day trippers because there is so much population within driving distance so it's good business to fill their bellies if you want them to come down each week. You could survive here for free after you make 30,000 points, lol.
Have a great time.

Stu, is the free admission for the Diamond lounger now 30,000 tier? Last year it was 25,000. Has that changed? (hoping not)

Thanks NoahCat and Stu. These LVA boards are worth even when not going to Las vegas!

Any insight as to the cost of parking at Harrahs for 5 days. I've read that you have to pay $6.00 bucks for A-Entire stay, B- Each day and/or C- Each time in and out. Anyone know for sure???

Also it appears to be a ton of free slot promos in A.C.. I saw 1 from the Tropicana that states they will double any free slot offer that you bring in from another casino! Have any of you had any experience with that 1????

lastly...any experience with the Philly casinos? I figured since I have to come thru Philly OTW to A.C. , I might as well give 1 a look. There appears to be 3 of them in/near Philly!

Thanks again!!
One more A.C. parking combination - free parking based on your play. Caesar's properties offers free parking every day to Diamond TR members (maybe Platinum too?). When I was there last summer they also offered free parking based on your play. Play xx number of hours with your TR card and swipe on the way out of garage for free parking.

I didn't drive to any of the non-CET properties so not sure if they also have play and park for free offers.

According to ACH's website (formerly the Atlantic City Hilton) they are now offering free parking to everyone, every day.

Edited to add: If you do have to pay for parking I believe it's once per day and it covers all casinos. You show your parking receipt to the attendent at the next garage you park at and you don't have to pay again.

akron al: sorry, it may be 25,000 pts for free access to the diamond lounges. My error. I had 50,000 points last year so the actual figure didn't really stick in my head.

champster: All casinos in AC charge for parking. If you have a premium card for a particular company, that company will wave the parking charge for you (such as a Diamond Card from CET will get you free parking at Showboat, Caesars and Bally's on the Boardwalk and Harrah's on the Marina). Some properties sometimes have specials such as if you play for 25 pts we will wave your parking fee.
If you park at one property and pay for parking you can use your receipt for free parking at a second property during the same gaming day (6:00am-6:00am) but they confiscate your receipt when waving the fee so it's only good one time. Also, parking on the boardwalk is generally more than in the Marina area. Typically $5 at Harrah's and Borgata parking can cost as much as $20 at Caesars in the middle of the boardwalk. My Saturday play used to be to drive thru a marina garage and pay the $5 and then use the receipt at the $20 boardwalk garage. Just playing their games. Always playing their games.
Stu
P.S. Parking fee is only for one time parking. Leave and come back and you have another fee. Don't forget your parking receipt is a cinderella receipt...it turns to pixie dust at 6:00am.

if you have a room in an ac casino, the normal practice is to pay once you arrive, then go to the front desk to get a pass for free parking at that casino for the remainder of the time you are there----

as to full-pay vp-----at the 25c level
harrahs has 3 machines 9/6 job
showboat has 8 machines 9/6 job and 8/5 bonus-----you also can walk inside from the showboat to the taj to resorts which has tons of 8/5 bonus throughout the casino

none of the philly casinos have any full-pay video-poker
Hey Now!

And what happens the next day (I'm there Mon-Fri)?? Another voucher for that day???

Thanks for all the feedback so far!!!
Check any CET/HET kiosk daily- they often let you print a voucher /off you one for free parking but I have no idea how many RC at needed to get it.
Definately walk to Borgata- their parking cost too- not just in the garage but outside UNLESS UR BLACK LABEL.
It's a beautiful property
Walk to the Borgata..we shall!

P.s. Noahcat. Does a $10-$25 a hand paigow player stand a better chance of scoring a buffet comp (for 2) at Harrahs or the Borgata for a couple hours of play?
and...
Which 1 has the better VP!
