A. C. - Harrahs Marina or Showboat?

Borgata has tons of great vp. Trouble is it's hard to earn comps. Your choice.

Harrahs has a food court area so has more options for eating w/o having to go to the buffet or a sit down restaurant. In the summer I would prefer to stay at the Showboat to be near the ocean and boardwalk. We were just at Harrahs the beginning of January and had a great time. The jitneys are only $2.50 if you want to leave the area and not drive. Plus, you can use the Harrahs shuttle since you would be staying there and it free-it just takes longer.

Showboat does have a fitness center. It's not huge but it is on the second floor down from the buffet.

Harrah's rooms are very nice as is the indoor pool It really is a matter of choice.
Thanks Stu and Sheltie!!!!
Noahcat,
How do you safely walk to Borgata from Harrah's Marina? We were there twice the last 2 Octobers and got lost driving there at night, let alone trying to walk there.

You can ride the Total Rewards shuttle between the four Total Rewards properties (Showboat, Harrah's, Caesar's and Bally's) if you have a Diamond card or a room key. But, the shuttle doesn't run very often and usually there is a line to use it. I would just hop on a jitney for $2.25. It's more convenient.

I think it's 25 or 50 points at the Showboat for free parking. It may be the same at Harrah's. If you park indoors at the Showboat you pay on the way in, so you have to print out the voucher after earning the points and get reimbursed with your parking receipt at the cashier. You can get around this by parking in the outdoor parking lot at the Showboat where you pay on the way out.

It's easier and shorter to walk to the Golden Nugget from Harrah's. It's fairly well marked. To walk to the Borgata, you walk along the water in the opposite directon of the Golden Nugget. There is a concrete path between the props but it's a little difficult to find. If you really want to do it, you can find someone at either prop to help you find it. It takes about 20 minutes of brisk walking.

There are only three 25c/50c/$ 9/6 JOB machines at Harrah's. They are in a carousel of 3, at the end of the main hallway, sort of next to the Xhibition Bar. There is $ JOB in the Diamond Cove.

There are eight 9/6 machines at SB, 25c/50c/$. They are in 2 blocks of 4 and I think they are labeled on top as KL and KM, or something like that.

You will probably be able to earn two free buffets for a few hours of table play at either the Borgata or Harrah's but you may want to play at Harrah's because you can use your comps at TR props nationally. Both props will treat you pretty well if you log some time at the tables, especially if you haven't been there before, but if you aren't planning on making a trip back to AC soon, you won't be able to take advantage of any offers you generate.

The room tax for your comped room at Harrah's is going to be $13 a night.

In PA, Harrah's Chester is about 20 minutes south of the Philly airport. Sugar House is about 20 minutes north of center city Phila. Parx is like a half hour north of center city Phila. I believe. No PA prop has full pay video poker though.

This is all the info I have off the top of my head but I'll try to answer any further questions if you have them.

You don't walk!!!!

I drive between both frequently & occasionally make a wrong turn.
The street signs are few & far between.
Yes you CAN walk-- Daytime, not night..
They is no danger, only bad lighting... they have made a walk way round by the water.. see if you can see it from your room window..
Easy to walk from Harrahs to Borgata and back:>), mebbe a mile/ nice on a sunny day.

The #3 jitney is dedicated to the Marina- just goes to Borgata Gold Nugget and Harrah's Marina- round and round she goes, so if you wanna drink.. take the dedicated Marina Jitney .

PS I could be wrong about the number- the jitney driver will tell you and there are signs.. I'm not a good sign reader. easy peasy for someone who does read signs but..lol
Thanks folks ( Bigfus, Ill be pm-ing you later). Just wanted to share some good news.

Today I shared with a co-worker how I just called CET on a whim and got 4 free nights at Harrahs Marina. He suggested that I call some othe A. C. casinos and see what they say. Low and behold the BORGATA offers me 2 free weeknights from now until 4/27. Go figure. I havent been to A.C. in 6 years and 2 comp rooms offer just for the asking.

Must be really Slooooow in A. C.

Or Noahcat put in a good word for me
I remember taking the #3 Jitney from Harrahs Resort to the Atlantic City Train Station.
LOL
No need to put in a good word during the winter months~~
Borgata has more rooms to fill now with new"The Water Club Tower" You'll get the older tower which is still very very nice- take the room, enjoy the experience (Their bath products are Lather- first rate.)
And both hotels have coffee pots w/ comped coffee in the rooms.. enjoy new experiences and may the force be with you....
PS Borgata has the BEST large coffees on the casino floor and the best hot knock out wait staff.
enjoy if all.
Play VP arouind the "B" Bar in the center of the Borg.
