A. C. - Harrahs Marina or Showboat?

Thanks NCat!!!
Depending upon your bankroll, time and future casino plans, you might want to go for Diamond in a Day at Harrah's. If you have a good run at the tables you could add that to whatever you earn on VP or slots. It's 3000 points. (30k ci VP). Now, unless you were planning to get back to AC within a month or two, you couldn't redeem any bounce back cash or future offers BUT, you'd have a Premium Slot card that you could show at the Borgata to get upgrade to Black Label there, and get $100 in fp, entrance to the lounge there and I think 1 or 2 nights (which include Fri and Sat). Diamond gives you rooms in LV and free show tickets and entrance to the DL.

If you didn't want to do DIAD at Harrah's, you should do it at Bally's.

There's also other new player offers in AC. I believe there's one at Resorts and Trump Plaza. There's also a new casino in AC called the Revel that is supposed to open April 2.

Now, you might generate offers good enough to justify coming back to AC so you'd have to think about whether or not that is even possible.

My subscription to LVA runs out at the end of this month and I'm not renewing. But, you can reach me on the other board or PM me with your email address.

If you are still playing live poker, definitely go to the Borgata. Middle of the week, it is the only real "hot spot" in AC. The Harrahs room is smaller but worth checking out. You can sometimes get into a decent game mid week.
Thanks prof.!! Looking for a room with some promos ( i.e Bad beat, high hand tec) and comps. Harrahs or Borgata or another??? It shouldn't be too hard to find a LLHE game in A. C.???

If you are looking for limit holdem:
Borgata has the best selection. The 3-6 game is popular, 2-4 is available.
Harrahs usually ha 2-4, sometimes 4-8.

On the boardwalk Balleys has 2-4 limit. So does the Taj.
Ceasars does not .
Trop has 2-4.
Hilton, Trump Plaza, Resorts, do not offer live poker.
Showboat is an option, personally I didn't like it, seemed the few people playing all knew each other a little to well.

If Revel is open check it out. I understand from the dealers at Borgata, that the Revel room will be nicer than Borgata.

I don't know if the GN poker room is open yet. Looks nice on the web site.

Good luck.
I'm a Borgata convert. I can get F&B and 7 days a week comp'ed year-round at the CET AC properties; but the service levels and experience are just so much better at Borgata.

Only issue with Borgata is that the "main-tower" renovation won't be complete until July; and I'm not a huge fan of the non-renovated Borgata rooms. With that being said, I prefer Water Club Tower at Borgata; which are very new and feature the best rooftop pool (+Spa) in AC. Also the Water Club pool (main level indoor + roof top) are 21+ so no pesky kids ever around at the pool areas. [note : Water Club is often closed Tuesday-Thursday in the winter months]

I've been very impressed by the Borgata hosts, also. They actually respond to phone calls; issue discretionary comps; and well, treat you like they actually want your business.

I've pretty much so given up on AC; but for the time being, I continue to return to Borgata. Mohegan Sun provides me with a much better (overall) experience; so I've been staying closer to home, for what I consider to be a far superior casino+hotel environment.
Thanks prof and Bac guy for the feedback. Now if I can just figure out how to drive from 1 casino to another without having to pay for parking...
A- everytime I leave/return to the Borgata/Harrahs and
B- everytime I visit a casino on the Boardwalk!
Without a premium slot card that gives you free parking you are going to have to pay to park but you can cut down the expenses:

You need to get a receipt every time you pay to park. You can use that receipt as a transfer and use it to park free at one other casino within a 24 hour period.

Only pay to park when the fee is $5. So, pay $5 at Harrah's or the Borgata and then use that receipt to park mid boardwalk (Caesar's, Bally's, Trump Plaza) where they jack the price of parking up on the weekends. I think the Taj and the Trop are $10 all the time even though they are not mid boardwalk.

Take the Total Rewards shuttle if you see it at Harrah's and then if you don't want to wait for a shuttle back, hop on a jitney (go out to Atlantic Avenue and you'll see the stops) back to Harrah's or the Borgata ($2.25 a ride -- have exact change).

Park in the outdoor parking lot at the Showboat. You pay on the way out and sometimes the gate is open at off times on weekdays.

It's about a 2 mile walk from the Showboat at the north end of the boardwalk to whatever the AC Hilton is called now at the south end of the boardwalk. You'll never be far from a casino and you'll pass The Walk (outdoor shopping mall), the Pier at Caesar's and The Quarter at the Trop.

Walk between the Borgata and Harrah's one day and don't leave the marina and you won't have to pay to park at all! Or do Harrah's one day and the Borgata one day. (That's probably the best way to use your bankroll as well. One big day of play at each, using the comps you earn or a host gives you that day.

So, you arrive and stay and play at Harrah's. The next day walk to the Borg and play and walk back to Harrah's. The third day, pay $5 at Harrah's when you leave and get a receipt. Park in the outdoor lot at the Showboat and do the boardwalk that whole day. The fourth day do the boardwalk again or stay at the marina.

You should be able to keep your parking expenses for a 4 day stay to $20 or below.

Bigfus....U R the BEST!!!!!!
