Cherokee virus situation - can anyone update?

I read the previous thread about the virus scare that occurred in Cherokee in January 2010 (a year ago). I also see that Harrah's still posts a notice on the Cherokee website about washing hands, etc.

What is the situation now? Are things back to normal? Should we go and not worry about this, or should we err on the side of caution and skip it? (Visiting from Texas in May, must fly home next day.) We would be staying in the hotel 1 or 2 nights.

Any thoughts?

I go there 2 to 3 times a month. Sometimes I stay overnight. They still have wash hands signs but no longer have a problem with any virus that I know of.
nothing to worry about, in my opinion. Good Luck!
we were there last weekend...several signs are posted about washing hands but on Saturday night (REO Speedwagon performing in their new arena which was AWESOME) - the casino was packed, like sardines. we left on Sunday...it's Thursday night...we're fine.

But, if you are not a smoker be prepared...the new casino area has a great smoke removal system but the old section (soon to be completely renovated I'm told) is simply dreadful.

They have a temporary non-smoking area but is located on a major exit/entrance and no real visible "No Smoking" signs...people smoke all over the non=smoking area and simply throw their butts on the floor or in cups. Security guards never say a word.

Sorry smokers - i don't mean to offend.

I will mention that on Saturday morning my husband wnet down to Paul Dean's restaurant for breakfast. I'm not much for breakfast and stayed in the room with the in-room coffee pot and caught up on my emails.
He returned shortly saying that he was told they were currently serving brunch and the cost was $50 per person. He didn't eat. We waited for the Diamond Lounge to open at 11 am and ate there for free. I asked him if they were served ala carte and he said the hostess told me it was just the brunch. No sure if he asked the right person or question. Others may know more about the pricing structure.

Early mornings during the week Paula Dean has a $12.00 buffet including a omelet chef. Not a lot of selections but food is good. $50 is way too steep for a brunch.
