Damn.. how many slot machines does Aqueduct have???

I just read on the LVA cover page that the racino at NY City's Aqueduct casino made more in slot revenue, in May, than any other casino in the U.S.! Mohegan Sun was second and Foxwoods was 3rd.

I am trying to picture a racino large enough to compete with Foxwoods, in NY CITY, and I just can't see it.

Is it that large a place (with a ton of machines) or are their machines just packed 24/7?? That may explain why our Gov. wants to open 5 casinos in NY State!?
"made more in slot revenue", doesn't necessarily mean more machines.

It could be tighter machines, that the machines that they have are being played much more, or both.

I dunno, I wouldn't set foot in the joint but the stats are staggering, huh..?
P.A. is doing well too...
I didn't assume they had more. Heck I know that the Foxwoods has over 7,000 machines itself. Thats why I posed the question to see just how many machines could be taking on that type of volumeand generating that kind of revenue. Thanks for the feedback anyway rick!

Noahcat clearly understood where my question was coming from.

Thanks 'Cat!

both CT casino's revenues have been "down" over the past couple of years. The economy has effected everything, one way or another. So, if NY now has slots which is basically on the way to CT, I'd stop there, save gas..etc. Of course, if MA eventually opens slots or casinos, that too will hurt CT.

According to Aqueduct's website, they have 5000 slots.
It's not about the volume or number of slots; it's about the population withIN 20 miles of the area.... it's a crowded, dense area.
I know (stupid) people at work who "drop by" after work every friday.shrug. Go figure
Even with the lower revenue in the CT casinos, I do not see them sending out decent offers to the players. If they want my money, a free room now and then would be nice. I get very little in offers from foxwoods and mohegan sun, which is why we take our trips to AC where we are more appreciated.

I will love the day when MA finally opens their first casino. About 40% of Foxwoods players are from MA, let's see what happens to their offers then!
alot of stuff foxwoods does is not necessarily mailed to you. I check rates at the website with my players card. Most of the time I get a pretty good rate especially if I don't want to drive home.

You are correct though, they don't send out to many freebies.
here's a thought... Racinos are sheer profit.. no maids, no hotels, rooms, swimming pools, sheets, soap or towels to wash.
No one stays at Racinos..do they even HAVE a showroom? add no talent to that list.
They are doing a huge volume and are the main reason why New York State just passed Atlanic City in total monthly gambling handle.

When they opened Aqueduct, they filled the casino and had a line waiting for space to open up. This was similar to the first day that Resorts opened in Atlantic City. What other casino has a subway station that provides access for a few milllion people?

I have tired to explain VLT's to a number of people who go to the casinos in New York state, but they either don't understand or don't care about the quality of the gaming.
