Deadwood, SD Casinos

Thinking about a little Summer getaway to South Dakota...I haven't been to Mt Rushmore since I was a kid. Deadwood, SD has a bunch of casinos (most look like little mom-n-pop restaurants with limited gaming). Curious if anyone has been there and can comment on the quality of games there.

(PS - I know SD is not East of the MIssissippi but where else am I suppossed to ask this question?)
It's been a couple of years since I was there but will add my two cents. Yes, casinos are small and you can tour all of them in a day and then decide where you really want to play and what games. Some good restaurants. I liked the Majestic Star steakhouse. There is also an interesting museum in Deadwood that is worth a visit.
We haven't been there in about 6 years. The casinos are all very small and there is some kind of law about how many machines they may have. My husband is a video poker player and we don't remember any full pay games. It is a very quirky place. My husband really enjoyed the tour to the cemetery and history of Wild Bill Hickok. Saloon No.10 had a reenactment of the death of Wild Bill Hickok while holding the Dead Man's Hand. The casino is very small and you need to get there early if you want to see this.

We also went to Mt. Rushmore on our trip. If you go you might want to go to the Chief Crazy Horse Memorial also. The carving is much larger than Mt. Rushmore but not nearly finished. I can't remember the name exactly but there is a state park(Custer?)where there are lots of buffalo herds.

If I remeber correctly Sionow visited there during his cross country trip. You should scan through his TR last year, there will probably be some pictures as well.

Thanks for the info. I've been digging around and most info I've found points to lousy VP tables. Looks like I'll be spending most of my time hiking instead of gambling - but there's nothing wrong with that
