Diamond Lounge at Harrahs Atlantic City

Do you still have to pay $25.00 to get into the Diamond Lounge at Harrahs. If so, what do you get for your money?
You never had to pay $25 to get in the diamond lounges in AC. Last year they implemented a $10 per person COMP charge (you can't pay cash) unless you have 25,000 tier points or are 7 stars.

With admission you get unlimited drinks and a mini buffet - consisting of 3-4 hot dishes, a soup selection, a salad bar with cold cuts and bread and desserts. The Harrah's diamond lounge also offers pizza.
stungazed is correct.

Have noticed that Harrahs will sometimes have a good fish selection on their mini buffet (Fridays?).

If your sever doesn't ask while taking drink order, then ASK for the shrimp cocktail plate.
servers no longer offer the shrimp cocktail plate-----they put out peel your own shrimp at the food line on friday and saturday-----they discontinued shrimp entirely on week days----ran into this at ballys and showboat, most likely at harrahs and caesars as well---another harrahs downgrade-- ---showboat also offers pizza on a daily basis----

The loss of the shrimp cocktail is huge for me. At Showboat, I would go in for a bowl of soup (the soups there are really outstanding), some bread, a shrimp cocktail and a diet pepsi. This would be my midday meal and the shrimp made the $10 comp charge reasonable. I will not deal with peeling shrimp, too much like work. I will continue to go and I will pick up something additional off the buffet or just fill up on the soup and bread.

The best thing about adding the $10 charge it that it got rid of the free-loaders and the lounge is rarely very crowded. They also upgraded the buffet considerably. The lounge is now a nice respite instead of a hassle.

There was a charge of $25 if you brought in a second or third guest. I don't know if it is still in affect since the $10 per DL cardholder & one guest policy was put into place.
it would be $10 for a normal diamond holder under 25,000 points,then another $10 or a 2nd guest----then $25 for a 3rd and 4th guest-----all comp monies,they will not accept cash-----
Who were the "freeloaders" who were crowded into the DL, since you had to be at least a Diamond to get in?
I'm with you, SandyPaws.

However,
we were there last year and were amazed by the selection of food at Harrh's DL. it was like a mini buffet. That said, some of the liqour was unknown brands. I like a refrshing Kahlue and soda with lime, but they had no Kahlua. I did find out about Yuengling beer so that made up for it, lol.

I heard a rumor that CET is thinking about implementing the same for Vegas. There would have to be some major remondeling for that, though.

We hit Bally's last weekend/ there was no one at the front desk so we waltzed in.
They has salmon, hand carved brisket, two fine types of pasta, salad, meats, pizza and 2 soups.
along w/ 2 cappachinos; it was well worth $10 comp dollars...that I forgot to pay

PS
I'm not peeling my own shrimp either
