Just a couple of weeks ago, when I had Veteran's Day off work, I stopped by Hollywood Toledo, just a few miles from home. I continued to be disappointed in their video poker selection. I had about an hour to kill, though, so I decided to play some Deuces, as we had found one machine that had a better pay table than the others. I did hit the four 2's twice in 5 minutes, and I thought that would be the best story I'd ever have about our sad little local version of video poker hell. But, was I wrong!
This morning, my husband had a day off work, so he went over to Hollywood, taking a small bankroll, and again hoping to just pass a little time. Was he surprised to find that they have completely changed over their video poker. The Deuces have been dropped down to a 20/10/8 in all machines, but to counteract that, Hollywood surprised us and have upped the paytables on all Jacks-based games. Significantly.
Not only have they improved their Jacks or Better from 6/5 to 8/5, but they have also drastically bettered their Bonus Poker. It was always 8-5, but they incredibly took down the 2 Pair to an even-money payout, but now they have restored 2 Pair to a 2-to-1, like the rest of the world. Keeping with the 8/5 theme, Bonus Poker Deluxe and Double Double Bonus are also 8/5 based, with all other hands paying as you would expect. The payout percentage of these games have gone up 4-5% each! Pretty much literally overnight!
We are SO happy now to have a REAL casino in Toledo, and will be spending FAR more time there from now on! I invite all our other locals to drop in and see it for yourselves. My husband keeps thinking he just dreamed today.
