For those interested in Harrah's Cherokee

Update on changes at Harrah's Cherokee ,,,
Thanks for the great article M. As I live 25 miles from Harrahs Cherokee I go there often and am very impressed with the changes. To me it is world class with many upper mid scale casinos. I was there last week and the new high limit and diamond lounge area was not complete yet and is suppose to open this week. As a Diamond player I am anxious to check out the new area so will stay there Wednesday night. The only thing missing now that live table games are coming are big progressive slots such as mega millions etc. I ate at the new Brio Tuscan eaterie and it was very good.
Will report back when I return Thursday.
That article was an eye-opener. I havn't been there in over 15 years and had written it off with its class II machines. Its now on my agenda to visit.
Thanks!
We are going to Gatlinburg this weekend and am interested in knowing how far it is from there to the casino. Also, is it close to that mountain road that goes up from Gatlinburg over to N. Carolina?

It's 35 miles It's US 441 south through Smoky Mountain National Park. A beautiful ride. It's about a mile from US441 on us 19 north with good signage.
Was there yesterday and today got two quarter royals on the same machine..
Thank you very much.
Definitely give us a report on the status of the table games and lounge. I'm only lowly platinum, but still am curious about the new room since they've talked it up so much.

It's so tough to get a room there on the weekend. I've looked at Saturdays through October and they're completely sold out. I guess that's the downside to being successful - you can't accommodate everyone anymore!
M, will do. Will be back om 8/20. By then table games should have started and the new Diamond lounge and high limit area should be opened.
Yes it's hard to get a room on the weekends. I have scored a couple times by checking on availability on Friday morning even though they were sold out earlier in the week. I fear once live games are offered it will be hard to get comped rooms anytime with the new influx of players.

Have you called the host on duty and asked if there were any cancellations? I realize this is very last minute, however, it's worked for me when my local Harrahs is sold out on Friday/Saturday nights.
Any news this week out of Cherokee? It seems that changes are happening pretty rapidly now.
