Foxwoods "Free Slot Play" Point calculations

I was playing JoB at the MGM Center Bar using my $15.00 free slot play yesterday. I played for about 2 hours on that "free voucher" and just for the heck of it 2 hours in, I checked my point balance . Guess what...the balance was the same as when I had first started. It was obvious that I had run the entire free play amount through. The Rewards desk told me that unless you stop playing and remove the players card and cash out ticket -- then reinsert to start a new play session, "the computer" doesn't realize you should be getting credit for your play. Does this make sense to you experienced players out there? Have you heard of this?

I will certainly pay better attention the next time -- Not that I usually get to play for "free" for 2 hours....
Usually there is a counter on the slots at FW or MGM at FW showing your accumulating points. I have never played at any of the bars ,I also have never stayed at the same machine for a straight 2 hours
I would think that the computer could be accessed if you push the slot club to have a slot tech open it and run a check on that specific machine.
I do use the free play vouchers but always get the paper copy and don't download it at the keypad on the machine.

My experience at Foxwoods:
If you check your balance while the card is in the machine, you won't see any points from that session, free play or not. But if you remove the card and re-insert it (maybe wait 30 seconds), you should see the new balance. I believe I have used free play and continued on a long session as you did and I have gotten credit for play. But I can't swear to it and things can change. So it can't hurt to cash out and reinsert after playing the required play through.
