Gambling in/near Orlando Florida??

I'm heading to Orlando, on Weds, for 5 days. I have researched the Hardrock at Tampa and the cruise lines off the coast. I can't seem to find either craps (virtual or not) nor Fortune Pai gow. Only Paigow. Please help guide me.

It also appears, on VPfree, that the lower limit VP sucks. Please advise. I'll have a car and am willing to drive up to an hour each way (from Downtown Orlando)
My wife and I were in Orlando last March. We took the hour drive to Tampa. It was a nice casino nothing fancy. But we needed to get away from the kids and inlaws for a night.

And if you want an adult beverage, you have to pay for it.
We were there once & did not like the casino. We will probably not go back.
We took a one day casino cruise, it was a fun way to spend the day, but nothing exciting about it. would not do it again.

Actually the Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa is a pretty fancy casino especially since its recent expansion. However it has no good VP and as umpire48 pointed-out it sells its liquor even though it could give it away. We were in Tampa for a Colts game a couple of years ago so we visited and again visited last Summer while passing through Tampa. Neither time did we stay long. It is a nice place to visit and a decent place to dine but we would not frequent the place if we lived nearby. Not a bad place to get away from the kids and inlaws however.
Hard Rock Tampa is probably the closest full fledged casino/resort. My parents live near Orlando and that is their primary gambling destination. The lack of competition allows them to create games that are not incredibly player friendly...although they have improved from years past. I think some transparency laws forced them to loosen up some of their machines in recent years. But, yeah, its not Vegas. They have some good restaurants on site and the buffet is decent. I recall $10 minimums at most of the tables put I kept most of my play to the slots as I was hanging out with the parents.

I live in St. Pete; our options are Hard Rock and a couple of casino boats, from John's Pass (over by our beaches) and New Port Richey (about an hour north through annoying traffic). Both boats are a pain, I think both have boarding fees now (but often seniors days, military days, etc, when they're deferred), both are about a 75 minute trip out and back (lots of dead time, in other words), both have crappy VP and no significant players club, but fair BJ (usually 6 or 8 deck with mediocre pen but good rules including LSR) and usually $5 minimums (maybe $10 at night, not sure).

Hard Rock is the only real game in town. Huge place, about 250K sq ft. Comps and mailers are pretty mediocre, better for slots players. No free liquor. Still have some Class II machines from the olden days, but maybe 98% Class III now. Best VP is Illinois Deuces for 50 cents and up, or 9/6 JoB for $2 and up. All BJ under $25 or so is from a CSM with good rules as I remember: I think DAS but no LSR, and I think some S17 tables. Dice and roulette wheels are illegal in Florida (but available on the boats), but there's virtual craps, sic bo and roulette now. Virtual BJ is $10 minimum with crappy rules. Buffet is good (don't waste your money for the Friday seafood buffet, only advantage is mediocre snow crab legs and it's much more expensive than lunch and other-day dinners). Other restaurants change often. Council Oak (steakhouse) is very solid. There's a new Asian casino-within-a-casino that has a counter with pho, other noodle dishes, Asian BBQ (duck, pork, etc), haven't tried it; also pai gow poker, pai gow tiles and baccarat, limits aren't too crazy as I remember.

Hope this helps. If anyone wants more info, or to maybe meet out there sometime, PM me.
